Publisher's summary

Five months have passed since Gladie Burger came to Cannes, California, to join her eccentric grandma Zelda in the family matchmaking business, and Gladie is quickly mastering the rules of attraction. Her latest fix-up is still going strong, and Gladie's bank account is back in the black - until a rival matchmaker arrives in town and has both Gladie and Zelda seeing red.

Not only is self-proclaimed psychic Luanda Laughing-Eagle stealing Grandma Zelda's clients, but Zelda is convinced that Luanda's ESP is total BS. She tasks Gladie with exposing Luanda as a fraud, but Gladie's attention is diverted when murder comes a-calling.

Spencer Bolton, the gorgeous chief of police and Gladie's on-again, off-again flame, wants her to stay out of the investigation - and away from the deliciously chiseled detective who also aims to win Gladie's heart. But the one thing Gladie's learned is that in business, love, and murder...it's always personal.

This is the rerelease of Love Game. It is the same work with a new cover and title.

Love the series

These are fun and entertaining stories. I love the narrator and especially like the southern accent. The main character is kind of quirky and isn’t always the brightest but still likable. A few giggle out loud moments which for me is very unusual. I would like to see the entire series available.

Ending not so great!

Good story, but Gladie’s love life needs to be more settled! Way too complicated, wish Elise would make up her mind.

3 stars

This is beyond silly and not much of a mystery. The plot goes round and round without anything being solved. I'm tires of every man falling for Galdy for no good reason.

not sure about this book

I almost stopped listening to this book several times. It took a long time for the murder to happen. There was too much attention toward Glady's love interest. Spencer wants her/doesn't want her but doesn't want anyone else to have her. Every new guy in town instantly likes her. The very strange matchmaker that moves into town is just odd. Stupid things keep happening to this woman and her friends. It's no longer funny. I don't know why I forced myself to finish the book. I'm not sure if I will get the next one.
