Coach Bradford has a dirty little secret… and it’s not (just) me.
Jack Bradford is the oldest of the Bradford siblings, my best friend’s brother, and my son’s football coach. He’s six-two, dark hair, ocean-blue eyes, broad shoulders, and a square jaw that’s perpetually flexed. He’s a hero in our small town, and the gentle way he cares for his young daughter will melt your… everything.
I’ve done my best to show my interest, even walking down the aisle on his arm four times (in his younger siblings’ weddings). Everyone in Newhope ships us, but he always keeps me at arm’s length. I’d pretty much given up on landing this DILF, when an overbearing dad says my son is only QB-1 because I give the coach “special favors.” (I wish!) Then my ex-con ex-husband starts threatening us, and the walls break.
Coach Jack shows up at my door, sleeps on my couch, and his fight disappears. Being with him is beyond my wildest dreams. His secrets don’t scare me. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted… and more. Together, we’re a win, and at last I go from dirty little secret to dirty little wife.
(The Way We Win is a small-town, single dad, single mom, football romance with a HOT high school football coach, a sexy librarian, Friday night lights, ALL the Bradford fun, SPICE, and a touch of suspense. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and no third-act breakup.)

Jack and Allie have been gravitating towards each other for a while and while Allie's crush was more noticeable Jack keep his is secret. The more the spend together the more they feel this electric chemistry always surrounding them. Jack can't find the strength to be away from Allie any longer and when Allie hears the news that her ex-husband its out of prison, Jack becomes overly protected of her and her teenage son Austin who also happens to be one of his stars football players in the high school team he coaches.
Jack has always been the caretaker of his family after the passing of his parents. Now as a single dad of his daughter Kimmie he takes the role of protector very seriously but his life is not fulfil so when he finally gives into the attraction he has for Allie things heat up very quickly specially because with Allie he can truly be himself. I never thought old good coach Jack had this delicious dark side in him.
There is a little bit of suspense, the perfect amount of heat and so much swoon in between the pages. I listened to the dual narration and it was perfect. Jason Clarke and Willa Jaymes did a wonderful job portraying this couple. I you can listen to the audiobook I definitely recommend it.

Single mom Allie, school librarian and part-time server at Cooters & Shooters, the Bradford family restaurant, and Jack have been friends since she and her son moved to Newhope. They’ve walked down the aisle together many times and in Allie’s secret heart she dreams of walking down the aisle with Jack, but it’s always been at the wedding of one of his siblings. Every once in a while she hopefully thinks she sees a little spark in his eyes, but it fades and he’s right back to polite, correct, always-the-friend-and-never-the-lover FRIEND Jack.
So imagine the surprise when Jack thinks to himself, “Allie’s too strong and too sweet, and as much as she appeals to me, she’s too close to my family. I know from personal experience my private tastes aren’t for everyone, and I won’t take that chance with her.” Whoa, where did that come from? Firstly, even though everyone in the family has also thought they saw that little sparkle in Jack’s eyes when he looks at Allie and are wondering what’s taking him so long – he’s interested in her? She appeals to him? And secondly, private what?? What is he talking about? One can guess.
Author Tia Louise has packed a lot into The Way We Win and all of it will keep you flipping pages or unwilling to take your earbuds out. Allie’s son Austin is the quarterback on the high school football team, and Jack gives him every chance to shine. He wants Austin to have a shot at a scholarship, a career, a good life. A pushy parent who has just moved to Newhope so his son can be the star quarterback adds a little drama – or maybe a lot – to the story.
That’s an annoyance, nothing Jack can’t deal with even if it is unpleasant. But the fact that Allie’s ex-husband Rob has just been released from prison has her nervous and edgy and all the Bradfords on high alert to circle the wagons and protect her. She’s tried to be invisible since she and Austin left New Orleans and she’s not afraid, not exactly, since Rob was never violent in the past, but she’s worried anyway. Turns out she has good reason to be worried because Rob has skipped some parole check-ins and has been threatening Allie with text messages. How did he find them? What will he do?
Jack practically moves in to protect her and Austin, and that’s when the secret side of Jack is revealed. Author Louise treats us to some scorching hot scenes between these two and some sweet, tender declarations. They try to keep it under the radar but that won’t last long. And then Rob decides long-distance threats aren’t enough.
The Way We Win is perfect, every bit as enjoyable as the previous books in the series. Everyone is back, as goofy, loving, loyal, and protective as ever. The high school football politics heat up and lead to some startling events. Rob proves to be truly dangerous and there are some very scary moments. Running through it all are the strong family ties and desire to always be there for those they love. It’s tender, sweet, funny, and author Louise shows us just enough of the “real” Jack without going over the top.
This book is a wonderful conclusion to a wonderful series. I was fortunate to receive both advance reading and listening copies. I couldn’t read fast enough, but I didn’t ever want to stop listening. Narrator Jason Clarke is always outstanding, making Jack the safe, secure, strong, reliable man we’ve always known him to be, but Clarke turns his sexy way up for the Jack and Allie private moments, and believe me, you will swoon. Willa James is the perfect partner as Allie. She can go from agreeable, quiet, obedient teacher and server to authoritative mom to willing, smoothly purring woman. I thoroughly enjoyed The Way We Win and the entire series and recommend it without hesitation. There was a little peek at what comes next and I can’t wait. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

The Way We Win is single dad and high school football coach Jack Bradford and single mum and school librarian Allie’s slow burn romance. It’s book five in The Bradford Boys Series and from the moment I picked this book up there was no putting down.
Allie’s son Austin is the schools star quarterback and Jack has mentored him from the day he joined the team but when Allie’s ex is released from prison he steps up from coach to protector…….and that’s when things get real interesting.
This is a well written, entertaining and emotional story. I fell hard and fast for Jack and I adored Allie but it was Austin and a seven year old little girl named Kimmie who stole the show. The chemistry is sizzling, the banter is witty and the journey is captivating.
Jason Clarke and Willa Jaymes did a great job bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the banter and the passion and very easy to listen to.

The narrators Jason Clarke and Willa Jaymes did a wonderful job telling Allie and Jack's story. They kept me entertained and held my attention throughout the entire audiobook.
Allie is a single mom to her teenage son Austin. Her ex husband was in prison but is now out so she's been looking over her shoulder just waiting for him to find her and her son.
Jack is the football coach and one of the Bradford Boys. Austin is his quarterback and he's always done what he can to look out for Austin and Allie. Jack is also a single parent. He has a sweet little girl. Jack and Allie have a good friendship but things start to change over time and things definitely get interesting.
Jack is the sweetest man when it comes to loving his daughter, Allie and Austin. He makes sure everyone is happy and taken care of no matter the cost. I was definitely swooning over him. I love getting to spend time with past characters as well and a lot of time at Cooters and Shooters!! There's always a good time to be had there.
This book will have you laughing, swooning, smiling and leave you with such a sweet ending! I HIGHLY recommend this book and this series!

Now if you've been following the series, you'll know that Jack and Allie have not so secretly been pining for each other from the very beginning. Well, let's just say that the wait was definitely worth it.
Like I previously said, so much happens in this story, and I could honestly talk about it forever. From Jack's delicious secret, to Allie’s horrible ex, to the Bradfords, once again, taking out the trash. And let's not forget about the girls' night with the mandatory purple juice. This book was fun and entertaining from beginning to end. I loved learning more about Jack and seeing how his protectiveness extends to his players, and I also absolutely loved seeing the flirty side of Allie.
Tia Louise also did an amazing job at setting up the next generation, and I will keep crossing my fingers for that age gap, step-siblings story.
Quote: “I’m not denying it any more. I’m not pretending anymore. I want you standing beside me, and I don’t care who knows or what they say. You’re mine, Allie, and if you’re changing your name, you’re changing it to Bradford.”
“I’ve loved you for so long, I didn’t think I could love you more. I was wrong.”
