Story
It's been six years since a terrifying breed of seemingly unkillable creatures emerged from the darkness to topple the unprepared governments of the world, in the process knocking mankind down the food chain. Survivors called it The Purge. A few brave souls rose from the ashes of the old world to fight back, often against overwhelming odds. Led by indomitable heroes, they risked everything to achieve a final, stunning victory over the supernatural "ghouls" in The Battle of Houston. Five years later, what remains of the ghouls have fled back into the shadows.

It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

Story
Keo has tried to stay out of it, but five years in the wild have only led him back to the one place he dreaded most - alongside a woman from his past and fighting someone else’s cause. Except this is one war he can’t turn his back on. What’s a reformed mercenary to do? Lara didn’t want this. Not another war to fight. She’s been struggling to bring order to chaos since "The Walk Out" and doing it with as little bloodshed as possible. But Fenton is forcing her hand, and sometimes you have to get a little bloody, whether you want to or not.

Keo has been in tough situations before. Some have been tougher than others, but he’s always managed to come out on top thanks to an innate stubbornness, the skills he’s honed from a previous life, and a whole lot of Lady Luck. But Luck can sometimes be a fickle mistress, there are always people with more skills, and stubbornness has a tendency to bite you in the ass if you’re not careful. Since leaving Gaby at Axton, Keo finds himself being stalked by a highly-trained group of humans in the day and hordes of the undead at night. Someone, something out there wants him, and it won’t be denied.

Story
The long night is upon them. After five years of hard work, dedication, and too many sacrifices, Lara thought she had made progress in bringing what remained of humanity together in her small part of the world. She also thought they had seen the last of the ghouls as a major threat. She was wrong on both counts. An unnatural alliance between two enemies, forged in secrecy, has finally been revealed. With Keo away on a mission, the real threat is at the gates, leaving Lara, Gaby, and a city full of civilians unprepared for a long and relentless night of fighting.

The end was just the beginning. History books call it The Purge, and it altered the course of human history. A breed of seemingly unkillable creatures that once lurked in the shadows of mankind’s past finally revealed themselves. Driven by an insatiable lust for human blood, these monsters - dubbed “ghouls” by some - consumed the globe in one bloody, awful night.

Publisher's Summary
Combines the two-part Keo storyline, The Walls of Lemuria and The Fields of Lemuria, into a single volume and does not contain new material.
Every survivor has a story.
The Purge decimated the planet almost a year ago, leaving small bands of humanity scrambling to find sanctuary from the hordes of unkillable monsters that reside in the darkness. Keo is one of the few who made it through that harrowing first night. Trapped in a small town in Louisiana, he finds himself joining forces with a group of strangers to make sense of what's happening. Like thousands of others around the globe at that exact moment, Keo and his new allies will discover that braving the creature-infested first night is only the beginning. Every day from that moment on will be a struggle, and every night will be a nightmare. This is their story.

You won't want to put this one down!
What made the experience of listening to The Walls of Lemuria: The Keo Storyline the most enjoyable?
Sam really fleshes out a character so that they become people you care about. You feel like you are with them in the fight to stay alive.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Keo has come to be a favorite character. Ex-mercenary but good guy, earns an important part in this post apocalyptic adventure. His skills, intelligence and humor are indispensable to the group's success. Why is he named Keo? Because (insert name here) was taken. ;-)
Any additional comments?
I received this Audible version for an honest review. I had already read the books and have loved the whole series. The Audible version was well read and a great way to spend time with my favorite series while I commute and work.

Loved hearing this character come to life!
What did you love best about The Walls of Lemuria: The Keo Storyline?
This narrated version of San Sisavath's novel added tremendous depth to Keo, who is one of my favorite characters. He is an unlikely hero who repeatedly demonstrates the same honorable qualities that make Will and Danny, other primary characters in this series, heroic leads. The narrator did an outstanding job lending emotion and personality to Keo while staying true to gritty tone of the story. I love this author. I love this series. I love these characters. The audio version is just one more way to enjoy my favorite indulgence.
What did you like best about this story?
Sam Sisavath has managed to balance many nuances, resulting in a compelling, engaging story. There is romance, danger, adventure, drama and mystery. He doesn't cut his characters any slack when it comes to loss and struggle, but overall there is a theme of hope and redemption. Excellent world-building, compelling plot twists and fantastic characters. I think this series is comparable to The Walking Dead in that once you get attached to the characters, you'll keep coming back to see what happens next. So glad I can enjoy it on audio for those times I cannot sit down with the books.
Have you listened to any of Ryan Burke’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first audiobook by Ryan Burke. High points for his narration and representation of these characters and book.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Dead, not stupid.

Surprisingly Good.
I bought this out of desperation for a good read. I was pleasantly surprised. I first got the tale of Babylon which had the first three books so I figure what the heck. It was good and I went through the series quick. Compared to Maberry's Rot and Ruin, different but the writing and narrator were definitely in competition.
Warning...when you get to this book, there are 2 versions. One has just this sorry but there is another out with both books for the credit. Walls of Lemuria and Field of Lemuria. Save a credit and get the double feature.
I may have a new author to add to my favs
