2096.

Riley Taylor is still alive. Still fighting. Still ensnared in the Service’s trap.

She’s served in battle. She’s killed. She’s watched as her friends have fallen away, either to death or to the brainwashing that forces the government’s agenda into young, hungry minds.

But Riley is one of the few citizens who has seen the inside of the Stilts, the flooded buildings that surround Manhattan. Now that she knows what life is really like on the other side of the wall, she must decide which path to take. She can continue her career as a soldier in the Service, or she can turn spy against the government and begin working with the Volunteers.

Both situations are dangerous. Both could be deadly. And as the clock ticks down to the time when she will have to choose, it’s more than just her own life on the line.

Predictable

It was good, Riley is a good character. The book was a little bit slow, predictable, and lacking details. Giving the character more emotions with her interactions with others is really needed.
It passed the time.

Amazing!

Loved it! I got a little lost as to where the story was going and who was on what side but its all part of the mystery of it and it was amazing!

Exciting story!

I read this years ago and now listening to the whole series. Well narrated and good story about a young woman living in a dystopian society.

Interesting story but reader too breathy

I could listen to the last installment, but I can’t take another minute of the breathy reader though the story is interesting.

loving this series

I've read this twice a few years ago. I felt like listening, and I'm so glad the narrator is good! She's excellent, actually!
