"Just then, a train of thought rumbled into motion and a soft voice asked me a question. Disillusioned with corporate London life and with no previous experience as a long-distance cyclist, Anna decides to clamber atop a beautiful pink bicycle (named Boudica) and set out on an 11,000-mile journey on her own, through each and every state of the USA. Dodging floods, blizzards and electrical storms, she pedals side by side with mustangs of the Wild West, through towering redwood forests, past the snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains and on to the volcanos of Hawaii.

Along the way, she meets record-breaking grandmas, sings with Al Green at a gospel service, and does her best to avoid becoming a grizzly bear's dinner. 50 Shades of the USA is a down-to-earth, heartfelt, and hilarious account of an adventure through a country well-known, but far less well-understood. It is a stunning tale of self-discovery told through the eyes of a woman who couldn't help but wonder if there was more to life, and more to America, too.

Truly Inspiring

Such a great read! Anna has such a way of looking at life and living it too! So fun and I will be reading all her books over and over again.

Fantastic Adventure Journal!

I love travel journals, and I love them even more when they are narrated by authors that turn their experiences and stories into engaging and entertaining performance. Anna knocks it out of the park in this book!

I had no idea who Anna McNuff was prior to buying this audio book, and now I am fascinated by her epic adventures that go well beyond just this trip through the 50 U.S. states.

Some of my favorite tidbits of the book are the vocal impressions of the American locals she encountered along the way. Simply excellent and very funny.

I love this book! Listening to it while building things ensures that I miss some bits and can enjoy it multiple times, experiencing something new with each listen. Provides inspiration to plan an adventure!

What an adventure

This is the second book of Anna’s that I have listed to. I have enjoyed both, she has a such a wonderful outlook and spirit. Makes me want to head out on my own adventures. So fun.

The book is a great read, but Anna *really* takes you on the adventure in the audio version.

Perfect Road Trip Listen

I can’t tell you how much my husband and I loved this book! We are cyclists and I was so happy to find that this book not only included adventure and details of what it’s like to bike long distances, but hilariously funny story telling. I can’t recommend this book enough! It fueled us all the way from Arkansas to Chicago and back!

Entertaining and inspirational

Laugh out loud good. I read her run through NZ too. I can't wait to read more from Anna, I love her optimistic outlook and authentic bits of hardship. It makes me want to journal more about what I love about the mountains and nature that surround me and the people that cross my path.
