This brand-new unabridged audiobook of The Two Towers, the second part of J. R. R. Tolkien’s epic adventure The Lord of the Rings, is read by the BAFTA award-winning actor, director, and author Andy Serkis.

The company of the Ring is torn asunder. Frodo and Sam continue their journey alone down the great River Anduin - alone, that is, save for the mysterious creeping figure that follows wherever they go. This continues the classic tale begun in The Fellowship of the Ring, which reaches its awesome climax in The Return of the King.

I never thought a narrator would put in the time and effort needed to master this epic trail. but Andy has. He has outperformed his marginal Hobbit narration and taken the LOTR to an entirely new level of greatness. Flawless, artful naration. Epic story needed and epic naration. Andy delivered, BIG TIME!

My low hopes were blown away

My favorite of the trilogy, and my favorite actor reading it. It is quite literally the perfect audiobook for me. The performance of each character and the reading of Tolkien's descriptions are amazing. Serkis shows his quality, the very highest.

I’m not going to review the story. It is a classic, I is transcendent, and I don’t think I will have anything meaningful to add to that. I am reviewing the narration.

I listen to LOTR annually, and have for many years. I love the previous version, and I will continue to love it, but I also thoroughly enjoy this new recording.

Andy Serkis’ performance offers an energetic, sort of organic quality that I think adds a valuable perspective to the material. It is playful, but still manages to convey the vastness, majesty, and mystery that we all love about Tolkien’s work. Bravo, sir!

Andy Serkis is delightful!
