Love it

I listened to this as a child and it is still just as interesting and invigorating almost 20 years later! I’d recommend it for ages 12+

I love the different voices that the narrator did and how much emotion was used in all the right spots!

One of my comfort reads

Literally my favorite book ever from my childhood. I’ve read it a gazillion times and can always come back to it when I’m in a reading slump or just want something to read I know and love. Also the narrator is top notch and does a fabulous job.

A wonderful fairytale

I have loved this book since I was a little girl, so my review might be slightly biased. The story is a light and lively adventure with the younger of two princesses, the 'cowardly' one who is afraid of spiders, war, and everything in between. She grows through the story, overcoming her fears and meeting challenges headlong along the way. As a girl, I liked that she started out by being scared and then became brave; it was an example I tried to emulate to some success. As and adult, I love the rich characters, the hero from Bamarre's stories who becomes a literal guiding force for Addie through the story. The ending is particularly striking, as it isn't the ultimately completely happy ending frequently found in many stories targeted at this age group. I think the ending is perfect as it is, but it isn't what you expect at all and is magical because of it.
I recommend this book to anyone of any age group, and it has a permanent place on my favorites list.

Love it growing up love it still! would recommend to all ages. Inspiring, entertaining, and compelling.

Forever one of my favorite books

I've loved this book since I was a kid. I'm almost thirty now and the story is just as powerful. I love the exploration of different kinds of strength and what motivates people to change and act out-of-character for the better. The tension is held and released so well and the ending is beautifully bittersweet.

I already own a physical copy back home, but wanted to listen while I'm away. I really enjoyed the narrator styles and the way she did the various voices. It was very enjoyable.

My daughters loved it!

This was a truly captivating story! My 9 year old twins loved the story. At time it was more violent than I expected but not graphic. Wonderful story about conquering fears.

Enchanting and Fun

I read this book as a kid and it was so much fun to listen again as an adult. January performance added the right amount of suspense and drama and truly brought to life the excitement in the sisters’ tale. It brought me back to the same emotions I experienced reading this book to myself as a child.
