Great second installment - can't wait for more!

This is the second installment in the Magic Bound Saga, and it's just as exciting and engaging as the first. I can't wait for more in this series.

Ember and Rane find each other once again, and they are still in danger. This installment is even more fast paced than the first, and it's such a intriguing story. I can't wait for more - I have to find out what started this all, and what happens to Ember and Rane.

Aaron Shedlock is amazing as Rane. He puts so much into his performance, and you can hear the relief, the anxiety, the determination and grit in his voice. Sarah Puckett compliments his performance well, too. The pair really work to bring this story to life.

HOLY BISCUITS THAT ENDING!!!!! What a cliffhanger. Generally I hate cliffhangers and I like my books a little more spicy but this book (and this series) is way too much fun. Vampire pirates? Yes please. Traveling through time to stop an evil force? Yep. The mystery of when/where this power comes from? Sign me up! I love all the different aspects of this story from its paranormal to its mystery to its romance I love Rane and Ember. I enjoy the unique touch of a vampire and traveler being connected through time. This swashbuckling tale can be enjoyed by all.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession and Pink Flamingo Productions. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Amazing Series!!

This is the second book in the amazing Magic Bound Saga Series, a Time-Travel Paranormal Romance. Ember and Rane's story continues where the first book left off. The storyline is original, entertaining, captivating, action packed, fast-paced, and suspenseful. Aaron Shedlock and Sarah Puckett did an outstanding job with the narration. Sarah Puckett has a beautiful voice, and she was perfect as Ember. Aaron did an outstanding interpretation as Rane. This is a great team author/narrators. This is a fantastic series, and I can't wait to listen to The Time Traveler's Fate, the next book in the Series. #AudiobookObsession #TheFlock

A Magically Entertaining PNR! Awesome Narration🎧

Anna Applegate’s fascinating Magic Bound Saga continues with another action packed story that is captivating from start to end. This book picks up after the first book, be sure to not miss that and the prequel as well, both are amazing novels and this series is best enjoyed in order. Ember Brighton and Rane Andersson’s bond strengthens in this book but so does the threat against Ember and all time travelers. We learn more about the time travelers magic and the mystery surrounding MacGregor’s protective magic and his source. I loved how Ember and Rane find each other in the different time periods and how they are working together o end McGregor and the evil he is behind. That ending killed me, it took me to the edge of my seat and left me there. I need the next book pronto, I hope it comes to audio soon. This imaginative time-travel paranormal romance novel is cleverly plotted and there is never a dull moment, there is plenty of drama, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moment, heartfelt emotions and a romance years in the making. Anna Applegate, thank you for another awesome installment of this magically amazing series, love how you bring all these supernatural beings together in the world you created. I am looking forward to find out what happens next!

🎧📚🎧 Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock continue to deliver an outstanding performance as they bring these characters to life. They have a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, give each a voice that matches the character’s persona to a tee and sound believable that role and just as I picture the character to sound. Aaron Shedlock plays Rane’s role with perfection, great accent and all, Sarah Puckett’s Ember is spot on as well, both are badass in each role they play, secondary characters included. These two mega talented voice artists take an already great story and enhance it to another level of greatness. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Time Travel, Supernaturals, and Fairies!!

This is the next book in the Magic Bound series, which follows Ember's growth into her new powers and her exciting romance with Rane Anderson. The Time Traveler and her vampire, who waits for her over years and sometimes decades. She Is still trying to figure out who the dark figure behind all the ongoing evil plaguing her family and to save her family... and maybe to get some quality alone time with Rane!

Ok, so yes this book got a little weird in the middle of the book with Fairies and missing her missing mother.... BUT it was such a great story! It definitely pulls you in! It makes you want to know what is happening next; makes you cheer for Ember and Rane; and also wonder if anything is going to go well for Ember...

Sarah is still just the bee's knees of fabulous narrators. Love her books, a beautiful book that runs over your ear drums like silk on your skin! Aaron is still such a great Rane, that I could not even imagine another voice for him!

Even better than the previous book!

I’ll keep this review brief to avoid spoilers.  This third book in the series is even more exciting and entertaining than the previous two.  This series starts with book #0.5 (The Time Traveler’s Awakening), and the story continues in each book.  While it is not the best urban fantasy that I have ever read, it is wonderfully internally consistent and very addictive.  This book does not have a cliffhanger, so thankfully I will be able to wait for the next one without being anxious about the characters.  Some things were resolved, and some plot elements are still up in the air.  I loved the tense action scenes and the dialogue, especially that of the hero, Rain.  The angst level is pretty low, and the steam level is low (just kissing and a little making out).  The writing quality is very good, and I recommend this series to all fans of romantic urban fantasy.

While I didn’t love Sarah Puckett’s narration, playing the book at 1.2x speed makes her sound very good.  I think that her performance was better in this book versus the previous two books.  Aaron Shedlock did a wonderful job with his chapters from Rane’s point of view.  His voice is so sexy, and he has an excellent sense of humor.  His accents were lovely, and he makes every character sound distinctive.  He is equally skilled at male and female voices.

Timeless action

I love this series, and I'm on the edge of my seat to see Ember and Rane get their HEA. All the ups and downs keep you on your toes and I'm glad the third book is out, since I need to see what's next.

Fantasy Time Travel at its finest

I just love this fantasy time travel series so much!

We’re still travelling with Ember as she’s trying to find her missing Mother. She’s finding out more about her family, and her heritage in this book. And that her real father Finn has been there watching over her. And of course there’s the swoony Rane who is the pirate that awaits Embers return when she will show up again in his time.

There’s so much happening with Fae, vampires, shifters and the villain McGregor seeking her out. This is a fantastic series full of surprises and twists and turns that keep you fully entertained and invested in finding out what will happen next.

The narrators can either make a book or break it. Aaron and Sarah’s performances make this series Fabulous. Such emotions they grab out of me with there voices making this like watching a movie in my mind. Now I’m going to be having major withdrawals until the next and final book of this fantastic time travel series.

Really good

Gosh!!! Why can't things just work well for once, just when everything seems to be going well... something happens that changes everything!!!

I am really enjoying this saga, it's really good, it keeps my attention throughout the book and I am so invested in the story and the characters that makes me feel like I'm there with them.

Really can't wait for the next one to come out on audio, because even though it's going to be the conclusion to the story, I want to know what's going to happen with everyone.

The narration is so good, just as it has been for the past 2 books, Sarah Puckett and Aaron Shedlock are amazing narrators that bring this story to life in a great way, that is completely enjoyable.

AUDIO 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
BOOK 🌟🌟🌟🌟

First of all the audio for this book was good, voices fitted the roles of the characters perfectly with the different times.

I don’t often read paranormal stories but I enjoyed this one. I liked the different times zones and how they loads of history and stuff she didn’t know.

I enjoyed booked two and I am excited to see where book 3 leads. There was twists and turns in the book that keep you wanting to listen till you finish the book.

Review

I liked this book a lot better than the first one. Since the first book was establishing the story more, this one had a lot more freedom to explore the story. It definitely felt smoother and a lot more easy to follow since Ember now knows about her abilities. There is more story and the plot is a little more flushed out. There wasn't as much action in this book but more traveling. It was pretty easy to follow along where in time they were but I wish that time period was explored a little more. Part of it makes sense that it wasn't since Ember wouldn't be used to the time. But if she followed Rane around, I'm sure she would have been able to pick up on it more since he currently lives in that time. The ending was definitely a rollercoaster and I'm definitely anticipating the next book.

I really, really like Ember as a main character. She's just such an easy character to get behind and I feel like her power growth makes sense. Ember is naturally strong in time traveling but since she hasn't done it up until now, she still has a lot to learn. While she catches on quickly, she still has her limits. In this book, Ember's personal life is a little more explored as well with her Mother, Grandmother, and Finn. I really liked this as it helped learn more about her character. I thought this book really progressed Ember well. Honestly, I wish this whole book was from Ember's point of view. Personally, I just feel like Rane's perspective doesn't really contribute anything beside showing how much he cares for Ember. But, this is clear from Ember's point of view. Rane really doesn't provide any new information as his chapters are from when Ember is with him too. I can see in the end of the book how having his own chapters will be important, but I just felt like they did nothing for this story.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Overall, The Time Traveler's Vampire by Anna Applegate was a great sequel. The story felt like it was advancing at a higher rate due to the first book establishing so much of the world. This book definitely moved at a faster pace and I really felt like the plot was finally coming together. I really enjoy Ember as the main character. Her skills are vastly improving but not at an unrealistic rate. She is really strong and it shows in this book. While I like Rane as a character, his chapters didn't do anything for me. I didn't really get anything from then and felt like it would have been better if the whole book was in Ember's point of view. After the ending of this book, I am eagerly anticipating the next one!

AUDIO REVIEW
NOTE: The narration does not affect my rating of the book.
Well, I think you all know what I'm going to say about Sarah Puckett. She. Is. Amazing. But seriously. I absolutely love listening to her narrations and she kills it every single time. I felt like I didn't enjoy Aaron's as much this time. I don't know if it's because I just really didn't care for Rane's chapters but it also didn't feel like the same quality of recording. Regardless, this audio was easy to follow along and I would recommend it,

Wake me up when the last audiobook is live

Ok! I am sure I am in the same state as Rane right now!! All this angst! My heart is still beating fast at the ending of this installment !!

I grew so attached to the characters it hurts to let them go even if for 2 minutes (or a lifetime depending on how time works)!!

The more I read, the more I fall for Rane! He is the captain of the ship, he has this white Knight quality that makes him save people around him, but what I like the most is his way of acting, reacting to Ember. And his words and unwavering feelings towards her through time!! I mean he has been collecting women’s clothes through time in the off chance he would meet her again and she’d need to blend in! That and all the centuries he waited between their meetings and yet he is not rushing her. I couldn’t pick a specific quote because everything he says to her is so damn romantic! Even when he is making fun of her gawking or when they are in a dire situation.

And the narration is so well done I wish book 3 were already out in audio... Now I am going into book withdrawal. Please wake me up when book 4 is live in audio.
