"A deft exploration that urges us to think before speaking." ( Kirkus Starred Review)

Couldn't get into the book. It goes over and over how taking some time out of your day to just think is helpful. I agree but the book comes of as little more than a Westernized, non-spiritual exhortation to meditate. I've heard the same arguments numerous times by Zen and Buddhist writers, only those spoke to me more. Maybe if Buddhism turns you off -- and books on the benefits of prayer haven't worked either -- then this might speak to you. But I found it repetitive and not told in a way that inspired me so I gave up about two-thirds through. This book in three words - thinking is good
