The Swallow

Espionage Thriller Series, Book 3

De: Saul Herzog

Narrado por: Jay Myers

How did the Russians get their president?

Democracy?
The will of the people?
A free and fair election?

He took power twenty-six years ago, in a country whose constitution limited the presidency to two consecutive four-year terms.

In August 1999, the Russian people barely knew his name. His approval rating was in the single digits. He was a nobody.

Then came September.

And something happened in Russia.

Apartment buildings exploded in the night. Hundreds died in their beds. The country went to war. And almost everyone who asked the wrong questions ended up dead.

By the time it was over, the new president’s approval rating was in the eighties.

He has never relinquished power.

Now the Kremlin is running the same playbook in Washington — and CIA spymaster Roman Adler is running out of time to stop it.

The Swallow is the devastating third novel in the series, following The Honeytrap and The Dissonant.

Gripping, seductive, and unrelenting, The Swallow is a razor-edged espionage thriller for fans of John le Carré, Daniel Silva, and Lee Child.

great series

great series. this story, book 3 is a fantastic continuation.but also has a lot of yelliing by the narrator.very noisy. i guess goes with the story, but too many otherwise good narrators feel the need to yell a lot lately and overact. should have just read it, Herzog is an excellent espionage story teller.

Character development was thorough & balanced with all the characters.

I liked that the story was fictional & alarmingly possible. Saul’s story lets you wander through his imagination but makes you realize, especially in this current climate, how possible even the wildest scenarios are.

Herzog’s The Swallow

From the first paragraph until the last paragraph. This book keeps you wrapped up and turning pages.
You can feel the raw emotions of the characters as they each race and react to the others actions! Awesome book and awesome series!
