Publisher's summary

A bloody path has been chosen....

The war against the Titans continues, and they remain determined to wreak havoc on the world, but Seth has become something all gods fear. Now the most dangerous, most absolute power no longer resides in those who have been freed from their tombs.

The Great War fought by the few is coming....

All may doubt and fear what Seth has become. All except the one woman who might be his final chance at redemption. Josie will do anything to prove that Seth is on their side, but fate has a nasty way of changing lives, of changing people.

In the end, the sun will fall....

The only way they can save the future and save themselves is by facing the unknown together. It will take more than trust and faith. It will take love and the kind of strength not easily broken. No matter what, their lives will never be the same. For what the gods have feared has come to pass. The end of the old is here and the beginning of the new has been ushered in.

Lack of consistency ruined this for me

So, if you are a Seth fan, and have read all three of the Titan books, you know that Seth has two different voices -- one by Eyre and one by Boehmer. It started in the second book and it works because they are consistently Seth voices in both books. However in book 3, LUKE SUDDENLY HAS EYRE'S SETH VOICE! The pace was slightly faster, but the accent is the same. WHAT? In the past, Luke has actually sounded a little bit southern. Now he's greek? I was totally thrown -- thank goodness Luke isn' in the book much because it was REALLY distracting. It is clear to me that the narrators need to go back to their previous works and refresh their memories about the voices. I sure hope they fix it for the next book, because i love Luke and want to hear more of him! But not if he sounds like Seth!

The Struggle

Holy Moly man it is getting good, the war is still going and the struggles these guys are facing is real. I think Josie handles herself pretty freaking great if you ask me she is a rock star. Seth also surprised me with everything we are learning about him and what he was made for.

The news Josie and Seth get in this book well it was kind of awesome and I can’t wait to see how this is all going to play out. Learning about her new ability as well and now that all the pieces are coming together book 4 is going to be a dozy I can just feel it.

Again loving the narration.

There is a note to editor in this.

I enjoyed everything except the out of no where "Note to editor" when Justine Eyre noted something was worded wrong. Why wasn't it edited out? Kinda took me out of the story.

Surprisingly didn't like it

My gods there's so much repetitive jabber in this installment. The characters restate the same information four or five times in a single scene. Without spoiling anything to give an example... the characters talk about stuff that is going to happen for a few chapters, then stuff happens in one chapter, then we get handfuls of more chapters of characters talking about the stuff that happened already. I started skipping through sections to get to the areas where the story starts progressing forward. This is very different from the other books. The characters are also starting to become more whiny and childish instead of maturing and learning from their experiences. They keep making the same stupid mistakes and assumptions and arguments that usually gets them into trouble. I finished this book with a lot less enthusiasm to pick up the next one.

Also there's lots of editing mistakes in the recording where the actor breaks character or re-reads a section because it was written poorly in the book. That says a lot about how much care and passion went into this installment.

Good

I love Seth's story. The narrator changed Luke's voice to one like Seth's and that drove me nuts. Slow moving at times.

The Struggle continues….

The book is ok, the constant reference back to what has happened previously in a summary style gets annoying.
I really dislike the Narration. The narrators mix the voices up from book to book. Do writers, narrators, and editors not keep character notes on how they portrayed the voices in previous books? Editing notes left in are also annoying. It makes it seem this book is filler and rushed writing and performance.

Woah, Seth...

I love hearing how Seth has evolved throughout the Covenant series and still grows into being a better person. The way he fights the lures of power makes me fall in love with him all over again.

Justine, why do Luke & Apollo now have French accents??? It's throwing me and very distracting.

Nice!

I enjoy the story but the narration is giving me whiplash. She can’t remember who is who. Somehow Luke now sounds like Seth. It’s annoying.

Love this series

Now Luke sounds like Seth used to sound. That’s a little surprising. Not in love with the male speaker, but the story is fantastic.

I can't believe there's only one book left

I love this series. The performance is great, however, I do wish that Luke did not sound like Seth now. It made it a little confusing when I first heard it. I did love how the ending leads me to wanting more. I'm going to start on the next book tomorrow.

Predicable

The third of four books.

It was a bit predictable and not as entertaining as the previous two. I won’t be reading the fourth book as I can clearly see how things will unfold.

Great series

I love this series and the narrators are great at portraying the characters with their range of scents but I wish they had kept Luke as American like in The return and The power. For some reason he has an accent like Seth and Apollo In this book which is off putting but bearable

The Struggle

What made the experience of listening to The Struggle the most enjoyable?

Having both male and female voices really brought the book to life for me

Who was your favorite character and why?

Sef has this ability of making me laugh all the way through the book!

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are some very funny moments in this book, at the same time you really feel the love between Sef and Josey, it's hard not too

Any additional comments?

I can't wait for the next book in the series, I do think that there could've been a little bit more in this book though. In some parts there was far too much talking and not enough action, but I like the story and the next book should be worth the wait

I’m so glad I started this series after all the books have been released

Ahh I feel for the people who read these books when they were released and then needing to wait months/years for the final book. Ahhh I need to start it immediately. Sooooo good.
I’m so happy that even though there’s a cliffhanger I’m so glad that Seth has found himself and come into his own. I really want good things for him. He deserves it.
