Publisher's Summary

The eighth audiobook in Winston Graham's classic Poldark saga, now a major TV series from Masterpiece PBS.

Cornwall, 1810

The Poldark family awaits the return of Ross from his mission to Wellington's army in Portugal. But their ordered existence ends with Jeremy Poldark's dramatic rescue of a stranger from the sea.

Stephen Carrington's arrival in the Poldark household changes all their lives. For Ross and Delmelza's children Clowance and Jeremy in particular, Stephen's advent is the key to a new world - one of both love and danger.

In his Poldark series, author Winston Graham explores the complications of love lost and the class struggle of early 19th-century England with a light, comic touch. The Stranger from the Sea is followed by the ninth audiobook in the Poldark series, The Miller's Dance.

good transition through the time gap

I enjoyed this installation of the Poldark series, but as an independent story the ending was a nonentity. I felt like it drastically fell short.

I’ve been in LOVE with the Poldark TV series and thought I would try and listen to it. THANK GOD, I found it in Audible!! What a delight it was to hear the continuation of the beloved story! The audio reader/Narrator was amazing too; bringing each character to life! FIVE Stars AND 5 hearts!!

No ending

This book leaves lots of loose ends. I wish he had wrapped up a few more story lines.

Follow up to the Poldark TV series

Very enjoyable continuing storyline to the Poldark television series. You would need to know the backgrounds of the characters in order to understand and enjoy this book.

Bravo!

It's been months and I am starting book twelve after reading The Twisted Sword. I am spell bound and full of the emotions of the characters in this incredible story of the Poldark family and people in the lives. I am most enjoying the historical timeline of the series with details I find myself looking further into. Bravo!

Wonderful!

As usual of every Poldark novel. It just pulls you in and before you know it, it’s over and then I’m disappointed.
