Publisher's summary

Autumn Laine has lost her creative sparkle. After losing her grandad and her job as an illustrator in quick succession, she is at a crossroads in life and needs a break. Spending time with her parents in Paris, even in the artistic community of Montmartre, doesn't appear to be the answer.

So when her penpal, Rosie, invites her to stay in the Lake District, Autumn jumps at the chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of Paris. After all, where better to re-discover her creativity than the place which inspired her heroine Beatrix Potter?

Arriving at the picturesque lakeside village of Willowdale, Autumn is swept up by the beauty and magic of the stunning landscape. Welcomed into the community with open arms, she slowly starts to feel like herself again as her creative instincts re-ignite.

But when she meets Dane, who has escaped to the Lakes for his own reasons, will Autumn's walls come down to let someone in again after so long? Or will the secrets of her past continue to hold her back?

A new beginning is a daunting prospect, but could it be the start of something wonderful too..?

Wonderful listen as always! Now I just have to wait for her next book!

Jessica Redland always does this amazing job of being able to build character without overwhelming the story and narrative!! Absolutely amazing! She takes you through this awesome journey with her every day heroines in such a perfect way! So grateful that I stumbled across her name a year and a half ago! I have read all the books and as soon as the new one comes out I’m right there!!

Keep it up! Thank you so much!

I loved this story!

Once again, Jessica Redland writes another lovely story, set in a beautifully described village, with interesting characters and a great storyline. You won't be disappointed if you've enjoyed Jessica's other writings, I promise!!!

Good as usual

But why didn’t they pursue finding the Green Man? What a miss to finish up that part of the story

Adorable!

This is my favorite Jessica Redlund book yet! A little different from her other stories. I loved these characters so much. Beautiful setting. Awesome to tie in Beatrix Potter!

Another beautiful story by the author!

Hoping this is the start of a new series. So many great characters. So many stories, yet to be told. One of my very favorite narrators who did it an outstanding job with this book. Highly recommend!

The narrator's voice is so annoying. I can't listen any longer. Sounds like an automated voice...ugh!

Depressing beginning

Unfortunately, for me, the narrator seem like she was just reading the book not becoming the characters. I was disappointed and couldn’t finish

Meh.

It was ok. Cute story. Not really much passion or chemistry between any of the characters. I like to feel butterflies when I listen to my love stories and there was zero of that. Everyone in the story seemed boring and uninteresting to me. I thought about stopping it many times. The narrator sounded robot like, and did not change voices in between characters so it was kinda confusing to follow the story. I really wanted to like this as I love stories that have a English countryside setting. Didn’t love it :(
