Great Series

This is a wonderful fantasy. Well written. You are caught up in the story from the very first chapter. Each new character is fascinating. There is enough suspense to carry you through all the books and you won’t get bored as you do with some series

Somewhat muddled plot with a very dumb protagonist

This series had an interesting premise and was narrated well, and I enjoyed the first couple of books. This one felt a bit less sure of where the story was going, but my biggest gripe, growing through all 3 books, is how stupid the protagonist is. She's constantly surprised that people lie to her, takes forever to put 2 and 2 together so she's always the last one to understand what's going on, and is generally infuriating naive and unwilling to use her powers. for crying out loud, she goes to track down a wizard who's mind-controlling her friend, and decides to take said friend with her with no qualms about being backstabbed or losing the element of surprise. it got steadily more annoying until I was relieved to get to the end of this book.
