Story
The saints, the heroes of the Roman Catholic faith, lived lives of holiness, dedicated to serving God. The saints lived at different times in different places throughout history, but they all shared a love of God that has been documented through the teachings of the Church. Today, the saints serve as examples for all Catholics, showing the believers how to lead a more spiritual life. Catholic devotions are particular customs, rituals and practices of worship or in honour of the saints that are in addition to the liturgy of the Catholic Church.

Angels and saints. Catholics tend to think of them as different from the rest of us. They're cast in plaster or simpering on a holy card, performing miracles with superhero strength, or playing a harp in highest heaven.
Yet they are very near to us in every way. In this lively audiobook, Scott Hahn dispels the false notions and urban legends people use to keep the saints at a safe distance. The truth is that Jesus Christ has united heaven and earth in a close communion. Drawing deeply from Scripture, Dr. Hahn shows that the hosts of heaven surround the earthly Church as a "great cloud of witnesses".

Story
The Summa Theologica, by Thomas Aquinas, is a fundamental text in Catholic doctrine, a compendium of theology that has been studied and debated since its first publication in the 13th century. Furthermore, it has been widely regarded as one of the classics of Western philosophy, not least because, perhaps for the first time in such a systematic manner, it set out to consider the views of non-Christian figures such as Aristotle, Boethius, Muslim writers including Averroes (Ibn Rushd) and Avicenna (Ibn Sina) and the Sephardic Jewish scholar Maimonides.

Publisher's summary
Experience the power of the Spiritual Exercises through this inspiring retreat.
The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Jesuits (Society of Jesus), are a tried and true method for growth in the spiritual life. Countless men and women have found inspiration in the exercises throughout the centuries. Simply reading the exercises, however, is of little benefit. They are like a manual or how-to book - they are not meant to be read but made. Now, you can join renowned spiritual speaker Fr. James Kubicki, SJ, on an innovative Ignatian retreat. Fr. Kubicki, the national director of the Apostleship of Prayer and a widely experienced preacher, uses a unique heart-centered approach to help you apply the Spiritual Exercises to your daily life.
Through 12 conferences, Fr. Kubicki helps you make the Spiritual Exercises. These talks are not theoretical explanations of the various meditations in the Spiritual Exercises but rather reflections that will help you pray the Ignatian exercises following their four-week format. You will explore Scripture, personal anecdotes, and the wisdom of St. Ignatius to arrive at a deeper spiritual understanding. Fr. Kubicki's engaging and down-to-earth style will lead you to a deeper knowledge of the personal love of God and to a deeper level in your spiritual life.
Deepen your spirituality with the Spiritual Exercises today.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Powerful
Over the years, I have attended and listened to many retreats, including several produced by Learn25. In my view, this is the best presented and most spiritually edifying. Fr. Kubicki is a person of deep spiritual insight able to connect insights from the 600-year Ignatian tradition to real issues in modern life. If you are looking to deepen your faith and your relationship with Christ, I give this series my highest recommendation.

Kubicki is very thorough
James Kubicki does an excellent job in this book to examine "The Spiritual Exercises" and provides a wonderful analysis and exploration of how one could apply this spiritual mindset to your life.

A Great Teacher and Healer
Fr. Kubicki is an example of someone who not only "talks the talk" but "walks the walk." He's a Jesuit and spent years living on Native American reservations where he volunteered to help some of the most marginalized people in our society. He's an empathetic and knowledgeable presenter. You really couldn't ask for a better introduction to the Spiritual Exercises, which are grounded in Ignatian thought.

Spiritual nourishment for the soul
Over the years, I've taken many Jesuit retreats and seen the power of the Spiritual Exercises in my one life. This series is the most spiritually edifying approach to the Exercises. Fr. Kubicki a man on fire for God. With deep insight into prayer, discernment and life, he shares his wisdom in an upbeat practical presentation. I highly recommend this series to anyone seeking spiritual renewal.

A Retreat with Spiritual Exercises?
I found this confusing. I was looking for a book about the Spiritual exercises and this is a retreat supposedly based on the exercises of St Ignatius. The book seems to presume knowledge and does not explain clearly what the exercises are or outline well the process of following. I’m disappointed to have spent the credit to purchase and wish I could return it.
