Publisher's Summary

Mark Beckett is the most annoying, patronizing, arrogant jerk on the face of the earth. So, naturally, I can’t get the damn man out of my head.

Fiona:
Like the old saying goes, I’m a jill of all trades but a master of none. What I lack in skill, however, I make up for in enthusiasm - something certain people (ahem) find irritating. But I have my reasons for living my life the way I do, for diving into one project after another and trying to make a difference. And if Mark Beckett doesn’t like it, he knows where to find the door. I don’t need his approval...or his panty-melting kisses.

Mark:
I enjoy the simple things in life: a job well done, a cold beer, a hot woman...you get the idea. But there’s nothing simple about the mess I just found myself in. The last thing I need is a pint-size princess sticking her nose in my business and pushing every damn one of my buttons like it’s her job. But Fiona Pierce may be the only one with the tools to solve my problems - and the power to change everything.

He grows on you

This enemies to livers comedy/romance was totally entertaining. it is Mark and Fiona's story.
Mark is hard to like in the beginning, a muscle bound , arrogent player. Fiona is also a little over the top with enthusiasm. They both grew on me as I learned their stories
This was a fun, somewhat steamy and exciting story.

Get ready to laugh like a crazy person!

Please be warned that if you decide to listen to this book in public or anyplace you can be seen, you are guaranteed to start laughing hysterically and people will undoubtably look at you like you are insane! It happened to me!
I loved Fiona & Mark so flippin’ much! And yes, Fiona’s antics had me in tears! I got the side eye from my husband too many times to count! But man was it ever worth it!
Amanda Stribling was absolutely AMAZING as Fiona! While I loved David Black’s voice and thought he was perfect as Mark, it got a bit weird when he was “Fiona”. Otherwise, absolutely perfect!!!
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a an honest review.

Amazing

I wasn't really into the male narrator at first, but since Mark Beckett is the most annoying, patronizing, arrogant jerk on the face of the earth, I guess it's just how he's supposed to sound. He's growing on me though and as the jerk changes, so does the voice.

I most say I love enemies to lovers, and this author never cease to amaze me with her books. Having them in my ear, makes my day brighter no matter what I do. This is a RomCom with a perfect balance of humor and heart, you get the funny parts, the serious parts and the life altering parts. I love how this group of friends find their way to HEA and growing as persons. I can't wait for the next couple to fall in love.

It's a Good One!

This was my first of Ms. Stewart's books and I loved it.
Enemies to Lovers is a troupe I thoroughly enjoy, and this one didn’t disappoint. The chemistry between Mark and Fiona was hot and I felt it when they finally did the deed.
Mark has a heart of gold and is perfect for Fiona and her insecurities. Fiona is spunky, sassy and relatable. I love how she banters with her “Big Man”. I found Fiona's self talk so hilarious I often laughed right out loud.
The strength these Carolina women have was not lost on me especially the transformation of Marks Mom. I look forward to the rest of the series.

Laughter Abounds

This story is hysterical. People probably thought I was crazy as I listen to this story on the way to work. I laughed so hard, people stared at me from their cars at lights. Mark and Fiona are a laugh a minute together. What made this story great was how these two broken people overcame together. This story made my 45 minute drive to work a piece of cake.

Delayed start

I had to begin this audiobook about 3 times. I had a hard time with the male narrator. I didn’t believe his voice fit well. But as the story progressed his voice made sense. I almost thought that I wouldn’t finish the audiobook, but then the story picked up and I couldn’t wait to finish it.
Give it time. The story gets better!!!

Loved It!

This is a great book; this is the second book in the Carolina Connections series and is written by Sylvie Stewart and narrated by Amanda Stribling and David Black. I loved Fiona and Marks romance and it was so funny. I listened to it in one sitting. The story was great and the banter between the characters were great. Many laugh out loud moments. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. The narrator did a fabulous job with the characters and had me giggling out loud several times. I can’t wait to read/listen to the next book by this great author and narrator.

Loved it!!

This is one of my favorite Sylvie books. I'd read it a while ago and just got the audio to listen to in the car. So much fun. I love when the big and strong fall for a girl with sass. The looks of other drivers as I laughed hilariously alone in the car were priceless. The narrators nailed this reading. Even with a great story, if the narrators aren't on the ball, it's just not worth listening to. This was worth listening to.

Fantastic RomCom & Listen🎧 Enjoyable & Heartfelt!

This is Sylvie Stewart’s second book in her “Carolina Connections” series and I loved every word of it. I love how she finds the perfect balance of humor and heart in her stories, how she creates characters that are realistic and relatable. This is Fiona and Mark’s story, Fiona is Laney’s best friend, I feel in love with her in Laney & Nate’s story “The Fix”, the first book of the series. Fiona was a hoot back then and continues to be in this book, she is full of sass and personality. Mark works for Nate, he has a reputation with the ladies, he is a player who does not do repeats. Fiona and Mark do not exactly hit it off right away, I loved the banter between them, he could not help himself from getting under her skin to rile her up. A lot goes on in this book, it is well written and well plotted. I enjoyed finding out more about both characters, Mark had a heart of gold when it came to his Mom and Fiona had issues with commitment and longterm relationships. She had her reasons and they were heartbreaking ones. Mark really impressed me the way he handled her issues. This enemies to lovers romance is a great one, there is plenty of drama, angst, great humor and dialogue (Way to go Sylvie Stewart) some twists and suspenseful moments and some hot loving. It was great to see characters from the 1st book again as Laney & Nate take another step in their relationship. I am looking forward to what comes next in this wonderful series. Sylvie Stewart, thank you for another enjoyable story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

I listened to the Audible edition, Amanda Stripling and David Black are terrific narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life, give each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on, they were a perfect match and did them justices. They did a great job with capturing and projecting the characters emotions into their performances, with banter and landing the humor. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen🎧

Fun and enjoyable

A great, light, fun and enjoyable book with great likable characters and a Interesting storyline.
The narration was expressive and clear. The only issue I have, is the same for most audible books, the accent is annoying for non US listeners.

Clear your schedule..want to finish in one day

I love this author and highly recommend her books....they give the perfect mix of storyline, comic relief, chemistry and romance. Each book just gets better and better to the point I couldn’t put “The Spark” off and might have lost some sleep from not wanting to stop listening to the story. You better clear your schedule...you’ll want to finish this in one day. Just loved this book and this series. Definitely going on my favourite list forever! Happy listening!!
