"Be yourself" they said. "I want to be" I said. "But who am I?" Have you ever noticed that what you think about who you are, how you should be, how well you are doing changes? This is because our idea of who we are is created in thought and it is the nature of thought to change. Looking at this more clearly takes us on a breath-taking exploration into what is real about us...The first part of Real looks at everything that cannot be true about who we are. The second part explores what remains when our thought-created idea of self dissolves.

Grateful!!!
it's funny, I have had this book in my Kindle since September 16, 2016, and only now have I finished it. Much of this has to do with how much more Audible I listen to these days, however, has more to do with the fact that now is the time in my journey when I am finally willing to be still and pliable enough to absorb and apply Michaels teaching. This book makes clear, the difference between straining through life and personal transformation through our fragmented human resources, and thriving joyously through life, empowered and guided by The Divine and Unlimited Source with whom we are One!!!

Deeply insightful and inspiring beyond words
This little book stands like a shimmering diamond among all the books I have listened to. His insights come from a deep place, and often throughout listening, I found myself going to that space within myself. In the short time that it took to listen to this book, my entire life has been irrevocably altered, What a gift. Insightful and useful.
It was hard for me to listen to this book in the beginning until I attended a workshop that just-so-happened to touch on some of the content within. The narrators voice didn’t engage me and keep me interested; very monotone. I understand the concepts of this book more after shifting beliefs I’ve had.

Short & Nothing New
I loved “The Inside Out Revolution” but this book is really short and contains very little that’s new. If you have seen Michael’s TED Talk (“Why aren’t we awesomer”) and read the aforementioned book, there is probably not much point in buying this one. The talk is repeated in this book almost verbatim and anything else was covered in his last book. Sure, there are a couple of new metaphors, but that’s not really enough. I like Michael Neill a lot, but this was a disappointment.

Similar to other books by Neill
The message that Neill gives is elemental so all his books are likely to try to explain it in different ways. For me, there wasn't anything fundamentally new in this but it is such a fundamental message that I am happy to be reminded of it in different ways.
