A dark future...

When Lord Wyvern’s outrageous rebellion succeeds, the half-demon sorcerer now sets his sights on world domination, accepting nothing less from humans and magic-kind than total obedience. The Order of the Yew Tree—humanity’s best hope of stopping him—has already been brought to its knees. Jake and his friends, meanwhile, have been left shattered and reeling after a devastating loss. But then, a gift from a mysterious friend changes everything—a sword unlike any other. Only, in order for Jake to harness its power, he must first dig deep and win the raging battle between dark and light within himself.

Faced with overwhelming odds, can Jake unleash the power of the brightwield in time to save his beloved friends from Wyvern’s horrific army? Or will his hatred and hunger for revenge consume him and drive the would-be hero into making a terrible mistake? One that could lead him straight into Wyvern’s clutches and fulfill the dire prophecy of the Black Prince...…

This intricately woven tale takes listeners on an epic journey where goodness, loyalty, and love stand as humanity’s last hope to hold back unthinkable darkness.

Highly recommended..

This series just keeps getting better and better. I'm not tempted often to want to skip to the end of a book, then come back and finish. But this one tempted me. But I'm greatful I didnt. It keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times. My emotions have had me all over. 🙂
Jake does an amazing job, keeping you in the story. I felt as though I was right along side the characters. I recommend this series to both Young, teen and Older. I'm older and love it.

The book is amazing, full of adventu

Hello!…

So let me just start by saying I have been listening to these books since two months after the first book was released and I have to say one of the best series I’ve ever listened to! The only thing I don’t exactly like is the classic Vampire x Beautiful Maden thing🤷🏼 but all that aside this CLIFFHANGER THING HAAAASSSSS TO STOP and I don’t agree fully with the depiction of the demons and angels… but as a
Christian that make sense. anyway I’m very glad for these books as I listen to it when I’m having issues with Dyslexia or concentration. If your reading this and considering FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET IT its an amazing series👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great for all ages!

I am so happy! The adventures of Jake and his friends continue in this book, but this time they are all together. We get to see the dynamics of the friendships, and how each of the characters is handling the loss of a loved one. Will they pull together or apart? Will Jake be the leader for good or will his self doubt and guilt isolate him and convince him he’s destined for evil? Highly recommended!

Another GREAT Installment!

I can't say anywhere near enough about how great this series is as a whole, how great the characters are, how amazingly the authors stay true to their storyline and development of this world we've all fallen in love with! If you're looking at reviews for this, the eighth book in The Gryphon Chronicles, you already know that Jake and his friends have been through a hell of a time of it. And after the devastating end to the seventh book (no spoilers here!), all of our intrepid young heroes are reeling mentally and emotionally. Not able to take even a moment's respite, our group is thrown into yet another adventure - this one kept much closer to home at Merlin Hall. I really enjoyed seeing the character development that differed for each one of our characters - Jake's hotheadedness getting, quite literally, hotter, Dani coming into her own strength and learning to stand on her own two feet, Izzy discovering where her powers truly will lead her and what she is capable of - and trying to ferret out what changes within them all are of their own growth and what is Shem's doing!

Jake Benson's take on these characters truly brings them to life and allows the listener to fall seamlessly into the world that EG Foley has created throughout these novels. I will come back time and again to read and listen to these adventures and recommend them to friends with and without kids alike - there's truly something in these books for everyone and have been a great escape from the mundane world we are all trudging through. I can't wait until the next installment releases!

Amazing

I can’t wait for the next one !!
I was on the edge of my seat for alot of this one . So much information about all the characters , necessary info . These books are so good. They have a bit of everything in them . I can honestly say I haven’t a clue what’s gonna happen in the next book. Things are so crazy but I’m not gonna give any spoilers! Just read/ listen to this book/ series you will love it !

Also, I just need to point out one thing , not about the book but about a random review that was posted . This person compared this to HP 🙄 aren’t we a wee bit past that ? They aren’t anything alike . Its so annoying !! Jk Rowling didn’t event children with magic , friendship and good vs evil . So it’s unfair to say that . But u always have one person that’s gotta hate on the Foleys…..

Emotional and a Thrilling Ride!

Buckle up for an action-packed thrill ride as this latest installment, The Sorcerer’s Army, breaks barriers of what you have perceived to know and love about your favorite characters thus far. Faced with grief, loss and war, many character friendships, relationships and alliances are challenged and flipped on its head! And with that, many event twists in the story and the actions of our beloved characters will surprise you and leave you writhing in anticipation, seizing with excitement, or exasperated in disapproval. Just when you think Jake and his friends could do no worse, they find a new low. The trials and tribulations of the teenage years are truly front-and-center in this book. E.G. Foley has masterfully woven adolescence into this time of utter world despair and darkness, and thus created a product that is relatable, emotional, and gripping. You are invited to experience the conflicts in new places, and there are many! Characters outside of Jake’s crew are given more depth and new ones “come into the dark” that offer more weight into the direness of what is to come. You are left at the end of this book seeking more, aware that there is more to unfold, issues to resolve, and an evil even more unnatural, yet to face.

An element to this book’s intrigue is how the narrator, Jake Benson, remarkably captured the personalities of the many characters in this book with his distinct voice interpretations. At the very start, you are accelerated into a world that is broken, and the despair is felt through Benson’s crisp and low tones. Throughout the book, Benson’s dramatic pauses, sound effects and crescendos provided much entertainment. After coming into the series in the later installments with readers having their own pre-existing “sound-sense” of the characters, Jake amazingly portrayed such creativity and understanding of the characters. This book broadened many character profiles and described new places. From all-out shouting matches to passionate speeches, many emotions of people and creatures were conveyed; no doubt a challenging feat to overcome. Jake delivered beautifully.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the dynamics and cadence of this book's fast and dark tempo. I look forward to the next installment!

Great story

Great story once again I started this series years ago and the books are definitely worth the wait. The narrator has brought the last to books alive! Jakes adventures are worth reading and rereading over again
