Outstanding

A truly haunting gothic novel. The ending was a big surprise. Perfect in every way

Another page turner!

Laura does it again! Another page turner or umm whatever the audible equivalent would be! Think Dr Who's Weeping Angels but wooden cut-out form. So many intriguing twists and turns and characters that you can really sink your time into and get invested in. Even though I just finished it, I fully plan on starting it again shortly so that I can catch those "teasers" she left in plain sight and see how the story evolves and changes with a second reading. That's the best part of her writing; no matter how many times you read her books, inevitably, you will find another hidden gem with each reading!

original and engaging, keeps you on your toes

I really enjoyed this book; it was very engaging in a way that made you want to know what was going to happen next. You were constantly trying to guess what the heck was going on. I thought it was pretty original and fun, not super scary, but definitely gothic, with a dark aesthetic.

a TREASURE of an ending

I have no notes for how gorgeously written this was, the second I started it i did not stop and that ending was such a wirl right to the last letter. A treat this was in every way a must read for the ages

What a Rollercoaster!!

This book was terrific. The perfect blend of Gothic horror and the idea of psychological medicine when it comes to women. The narrator had a fantastic tone that lent itself well to the tale being told. This book with become an annual Halloween read for me.

This book seemed to drag a mini parts in the narrative
