Uncovering the truth, one story at a time

I chose a recent Audible release, “The Stranger in Room Six,” because of the talents of author and narrator. The pairing of Jane Corry and Bronwen Price is brilliant, and I'll be seeking out more of their work. Corry crafts a unique thriller, thoroughly weaving together Price’s audictive narration with twisty turns that kept me fully engaged. I especially appreciated the dual storyline, which seamlessly jumps between two decades, adding depth and intrigue to the plot. Price's pitch-perfect vocals bring each character to life with ease and well-paced narration. We follow Belinda, a woman starting fresh after a longtime prison sentence, as she takes on a new job at Sunnyside Home for the Young at Heart. However, her past and the home’s secrets threaten to disrupt her new life. Mabel, the home’s oldest resident, knows secrets that could be deadly if revealed. Overall, I enjoyed this listen, despite a few slow moments through a few chapters – but most definitely worth finishing. I lucked out when I bought “The Stranger in Room Six” for a mere $11. A proper curtsy to Corry and Price, as well as Audible, for making this riveting listen available. Epic, indeed!
