The Shadow Rises

A Morgan Rook Supernatural Thriller (The Order of Shadows, Book 5)

The final shadow rose to claim it all. I was out of moves.

The city was a battlefield. Every enemy I'd ever buried was crawling back from the grave - demons, sorcerers, ghosts of my own making - and they'd come to finish it.

The scars were wide open. And the dark other that had been stirring since the beginning wasn't stirring anymore. He was calling the shots.

I was down to raw will and a flicker of magic. The streets were ash. The odds were a slaughter.

This was the reckoning I'd been running from since the day I woke up in that asylum, with no name and no past. It had finally caught up with me.

One last stand. Or one last fall.

Morgan Rook - The sage ends

The final installment in the quest for Mogan Rook did not disappoint. Morgan resolve all his daddy and sibling issues. Alstriad put off Morgan‘s sexual overtures (two is company and three is a crowd, remember Emeric). They finally got their intimate moment. Samuel got beer; lot of it. The action was fast, furious, and ferocious. Mogan’s detox program was painful enough that he will never partake in dark magic again. Mogan and friends left lots of dead bodies and demons in their wake in the blinkered world, Hindered land and Penrythe.

Knowing this was the last installment I tried to make the reading/listening last, that did not work. The story was so engrossing, and action packed that I did not put it down.

Entertaining

Plenty of action and entertaining storyline. The characters are likable and interesting. Great ending to the series. The narrator did a good job! I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
