Publisher's Summary

A perfect disaster - or a perfect match? Find out in this heartfelt rom-com novella....

"Just three dates. That's all I'm asking. One boy shares your sense of humor. Another has similar interests and ideals. The third boy has a helpful heart like yours."

When Aditi Gupta comes home late from work as a pediatric resident one night and her grandfather offers this pitch, she reluctantly agrees. She's far too busy with med school to be dating, and besides, she dreams of a love for the ages, like her parents, not an arranged marriage. And yet she finds herself agreeing to three dates because she loves her grandfather. All she has to do is make herself utterly ineligible and problem solved!

And sure enough her first date with the disgustingly handsome and intriguing Krishna Lal goes exactly as planned: not well! But then the second date comes around and Aditi finds that there is more at stake than just three bad dates. Suddenly, her heart is on the line, and maybe her grandfather's, too.

This is us!

Not only is this story written by my wife, it’s more or less a story of us. We were tricked into meeting too, and neither of us had expected us to be engaged in just two dates.

Great love story But horrible language

Loved this story, but completely unnecessary use of foul language , random gratuitous F bombs. I would have rated it 5 stars otherwise.

Charming

I absolutely loved this. The characters are so real I want to have dinner with them. Send me the wedding invitation please. I found myself laughing and smiling throughout the listen. This would make a great film.

Smiled from start to finish

I smiled from start to finish, loving the humor, charisma and banter between these two. And the oh so romantic ending. The narrators were great.

Cute but...

This was overall a pretty good listen. I just get tired of all the swearing. It jolts me out of the story and I don’t like it. Probably won’t listen to more by this author.

How sweet

This book is literally a setup by the family. It's short and to the point with not a lot of angst.

A little bland. Not much happens

A bit repetitive too. Like a few other audible originals, it alternates between the 2 main characters' points of view.

I found the female protagonist a bit annoying and quite rude. Narration is fine.

Nice. Neat

This is a lovely novel, and I can’t comment too much about it, without giving spoilers!

As I’m English (& Black), this is not my usual genre at all! But it was a very enjoyable quick read, introducing me to a new author, so with her help, I think that I have indeed found a new genre to add to my quiver! Certainly I shall read more of hers, if this isn’t a fluke!

If it isn’t, this is an author worth sticking with! Her characters are interesting, believable, and frank! 21st century Asians living in a 21st century USA, yet with echoes to a centuries old culture and caste system. Beautiful.

A good listen!

A very relatable and fun story about matchmaking grand parents. I definitely enjoyed the cultural and food references in this.

Recommended for all Indians who have faced arranged marriage setups.

Meh

Story itself is okay but the female narrator was horrendous. She couldn't pronounce some Indian words properly, she sounds like she was both auto tuned AND that she went to some British school for narration because her narration is so incredibly affected! Her narration ruined the novella for me.
