A chilling thriller brought back to life with enhanced audio, featuring new narration by Hillary Huber.

“Koontz is brilliant.” - Chicago Sun-Times

An ordinary parking lot in southern California. Christine Scavello and her six-year-old son are accosted by a strange old woman.

"I know who you are," the woman snaps at the boy. "I know what you are."

A scream, a threat - and then a grotesque act of violence. Suddenly Christine's pride and joy, her only son, is targeted by a group of religious fanatics. They've branded him the Antichrist. They want to kill him. And they are everywhere...

I didn't dislike the book, but I have enjoyed other Koontz much more. I love solid endings, and this one left me wondering. Maybe there is a sequel, but I haven't found it yet.

I read this one when it came out. Enjoyed it being read to me just as much when I read it back then.

You can't miss with a Dean Koontz book.

it was a pretty good story, but i kinda feel like it could’ve been told with a lot less words.
the suspense near the end was practically nail-biting, and although i ‘Knew’ how it would end, i’m hoping that there will be more light shed on Joey as he gets older. i’d love to know more about what happens in the years to come ..
as for Ms Huber, she was a relatively good voice actor, and i enjoyed her narration. there were just a few places where she kind of, dragged, or went into a monotone, but they weren’t enough to make me stop listening.
all in all, it was worth the credit!

suspenseful!

I've struggled to find another new audiobook that I actually enjoyed. call dad ended once I settled in to a story from an old favorite author, Dean Koontz. he waste no time Meandering character Exposition or back story, instead of getting right to the point, and into the meat of the story. this time around, he doesn't dive head-first into all-out Supernatural
, but instead often Stratus defense between logic and absolute impossibility. I think this equivocation allows for the reader do employ their own imagination more effectively in deciding whether or not these characters lean towards magical or simply just Mystikal in nature. there is something simultaneously satisfying and aggravating when you have an tagonist that is so relentless in their pursuit and attack, and this is something that Dean Koontz is known for, so it's important to know this going in, then sometimes the anti-heroes seem to be absurdly lucky, but it does keep you on the edge of your seat. It's a satisfying story from beginning to end, with none of the lulls in excitement or even interesting plotlines, and it's guaranteed to satisfy any Koontz fan, or those who like thrillers in general.

another Banger from Dean Koontz.

I really liked the careful portrayal of details in describing things and thoughts. This made the story come to life.

The relationship between the mother and son.
