Four years may have passed by between hockey captain of the Copper Valley Thrusters, Duncan Lavoie, and head batting coach for the Copper Valley Fireballs, Addie Bloom, but that’s nothing a little fitting room meet-disaster can’t fix ! As always Pippa starts us off with a serious laugh-out-loud moment that then leads to a complete disaster . This setup is one of the reasons I love reading Pippa’s books so much because I eat this up every single time . I also loved seeing so many previous book characters pop up and how they are so involved with each other’s lives .

This is audiobook six in The Copper Valley Thrusters series and it can be listened to as a complete stand alone .

2nd chance, meddling friends, strong female &spice

To the point: Female BB coach/Hockey captain, 2nd chances, meddling teammates, female empowerment, and of course the famous Pippa Grant rom com and spice.

Fangirl: OMG this was just so good. It was the perfect mix of both teams, of old characters making appearances but of a new love story, of heart and spice. I think Addie is my spirit animal. I have been in the dressing room dealing with dresses just like her! Too bad I didn't have a Duncan! This book just filled my heart and I didnt want to stop reading til I was done, and now I want a reread of both series! I am so happy that Addie found such a supportive partner. I love how Duncan is with his niece, just adorable!

Need to know: This book can be read as a complete stand alone. Everything you need to know will be given to you. However I feel that you will get more out of it if you have read the Fireballs and Thrusters series as the two main characters are from each team. And we also get a lot cameos from previous main characters from both series.

Sad to say but this almost feels like a closing out of the series for both of them. But what a way to end on a high note. And it was amazing to visit with some of my favorite past characters to see them past their HEA, past their retirement, and them living their best lives.

Also note: I listened to the audio of this book. I love Pippa's narrators. She always does a good job of picking them. I think audio really helps to connect to the characters quicker than just reading. They did a great job.

Duncan and Addie

A second chance at love story. These two are amazing and relatable. I enjoyed their chemistry. This book has me laughing out loud and I shed a few tears. I love their support group from family, friends, and teammates. I enjoyed seeing past characters but this can be read as a stand alone. I need more from these two teams. I just love the way Pippa writes. The narrators did a fabulous job with the characters. It brings another side to the characters.

Fun & Funny & Sexy too

I enjoy Grants world of funny characters. This book was right up there with the best of her books. With previous characters surrounding them, the MCs found their way to love through a not-so-crazy path.
