top shelf in some ways puts Clancy to shame

if you are looking for a realistic work of fiction where the writer understands how pragmatic international law and politics work integrated with military incidents and battles this is for you !

Seemed liek a good story, but the peformance...

Story seemed like it would be interesting, but I just couldn't keep listening to the performance. It was terrible. I couldn't finish the book, even though it seemed it would be a good story.

great technical detail

could have beed a great audiobook but to me the narrator was difficult to listen to. Really bad at accents and all but 1 character in the book are from countries other than the US. Im going to read the remaining books in the series.

Absolutely his finest work

The Saudi Iranian War.
A fictional war presented with such realism it makes you think it really happened.
I can't recommend this book highly enough.
A great storyline and superb narration. combined to create a tremendous thriller.
I received a free copy of this audio book at my own request and voluntarily left this honest review..

Refresher for this old site weapons tech

I’am a retired Air Force weapons tech and while I found the vast amount of technical data on aircraft and weapons interesting I also thought that it was somewhat repetitive after a while and didn’t really add to the story just my opinion the premise is interesting as are the characters truly enjoyed the performance of Mr. Block

Reader needs different voices and accents

I liked listening to the Second Korean War, but the Saudi-Iranian war was difficult. All the foreign accents sounded the same, whether Russian or Arabic. I like the stories by this author so I will be reading on Kindle, but not listening on Audible. A technical nitpick to the author - pistols and automatic rifles don't have clips - they have magazines. And automatic rifles don't have a slide, they have a charging handle.

Whoever added music should be fired!

The book itself is good. The narrator is sub par. But I’m the more intense times of the book they add music. The narrator says like 3 words then music comes on for 10 seconds and it goes like this for a while. Very annoying.

Terrible narration

Buy the book and read it yourself. It is a decent book but the narration is awful at best. The most emotion displayed by the narrator is when he announced the chapter numbers. Bad pauses and horrible music interludes make it even worse.

worst recording ever! don't buy

story is ok, kind of like a B action movie.
However the recording is really bad, the reader sounds drunk sometimes, and all of a sudden there is background music to make it more dramatic... do not pay for this is my advice...
