Nice Reference

The writing itself needs a positive major comment. I felt that I was being spoken to by the author rather than listening off chapters.

A Must-Have Audio Book

This sweeping and beautifully written description and analysis of the two Russian revolutions of 1917 is a great work of history. Although written by a prime participant, it is not a personal memoir but rather a detailed and objective account that never loses sight of the big picture, focusing on the strategy and tactics of each contending class and political party.

Captivating history pays great tribune to Lenin but is modest about the fact that Lenin was in hiding at the time of the. Very interesting and really captivating.

A Well Formed Book

Here in this book the author gives a compelling historical explanation of the failure of Russia to keep pace with the political developments in the West which resulted in a revolution intending to take backward Russia without any experience of western democratic developments to a revolutionary state. His hopes of developing a democratic proletariat were dashed by Stalin.

Good Researched Book

Excellent book of the revolution in its various phases, stopping just prior to WWII. Very well written. This should be assigned in expository writing classes as a model of concision and precision.

Short But Very Informative

What a fantastic book! This is the Russian Revolution that you were never taught in school, full of fascinating detail. It shows you how workers can run society, and is a welcome antidote to all the right wing and Stalinist rubbish that has been written about the Russian Revolution in the last 80 years.

The book shows that the Bolshevik party was a very different party from the monolithic Stalinist Parties which came to rule in Russia and China.

Fabulous

This book gives a unique insight into the "ten days that shook the world." Never before had the working class seized power and held on to it. The ruling classes of the world were sent into a panic by the very idea that their inferiors might get ideas above their station.
