The Rotten Belly Society was an order that existed among some Native Americans tribes of the Great Plains. The members of this society were compelled by powerful visions to devote their lives to being contrarians. A similar principle was seen on a popular t-shirt of the 1980s that said, “I’m not useless—I can be used as a bad example.”

The paths we follow through life aren’t always straight. The struggles we face are not always obvious to the people around us. The journey is messy, painful, and we do not escape it alive.

In this final installment in The Way of Dan Series, Dan’s journey home isn’t the only challenge he’s facing. Besides the ever-present danger of traveling across post-apocalyptic America, there are the personal demons that have pursued Dan across the country and across the years.

A part of Dan feels too old and stubborn to change. Another part of him is beginning to understand that change is constant, and the journey only ends if we give up. That is the Way of Dan.

One of my favorite series.

I've enjoyed every installment in the series. This book was no exception.
It further built on the characters of the previous books in the series and added a few new ones.

Amazing finale to a great series!

Such a good story line and the subtle jabs towards the other series that franklin horton has wrote was a great touch! Definitely one of my favorite stories by my favorite author!

Great series!!! I hope they come up with Book 6, would be cool to see how/what he does now that he is back with his family.

as with previous books, non+stop action. new characters add to the adventure. the good guys may come as a surprise.

I have to say THANK YOU , Franklin, for finishing this incredible series. Big shout out to the Man, the Legend, Mr. Kevin pierce for giving so much life to this incredibly heartfelt, exciting series. You don’t know me from Adam. You’ll get to know these characters and fall in love with all involved, including this amazing author. Just try one. You’ll soon understand how this writer/narrator is pure magic.

Homecoming

When is fifth book of the way of dance series, it does not disappoint! Just as fresh and exciting as the first page of book one. Dan is an extraordinary character and so well written. He and Holly seem to be so opposite yet their dynamics together, wet and banter are so true to life. Hoping there will be a sixth book about this amazing trio of Dan, Holly and Karin. Please don’t let us down. Write another book in this series. Being from the south. I feel like I could know Dan personally. Love all of his philosophy. Love the philosophy of those he has met along the way. Especially Sal, hoping he will be in the next installment.
