The demon...

I've been fighting my own demons for most of my life. The alcohol seems to numb the pain, but it never makes the nightmares go away. All I want in life is a little peace. When I met my angel, it felt like I found it, but there is so much standing between us. Why does she have to be so young?

The demon's angel...

Meeting Drake was the best thing ever to happen to me. I found my friend, my soul mate. But he lets my age stand between us. There is something that haunts him, and I selfishly want to be the one who helps him conquer his ghosts. If he would just let me in, let me closer, I think I could help him.

So So Amazing

In this story we get Lana and Drake's story. both of them have had to fight for the happiness they have. Not only in their own lives but as a couple as well. There are so many things that happen in this book that will have these characters being ones you will want to listen to again and again. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone

Loved this story!

This audiobook was really entertaining to listen to, being the third book in this series. The hero, Drake, is an alcoholic guitarist in the band Demons Wings. He has problems coping because of things that happened to him as a child. But when he meets Lana, sister to Layla from book 2, he finds that he has a new thing to self-medicate with- her company. Part of the problem is that when he first meets her she is 17 and he's 31, so he feels they can only be friends. After Drake makes a big mistake at Jesse and Layla's wedding, Lana decides to go to college 3000 miles away from Malibu in NYC. The story is very emotional and deals with the topic of alcoholism well. Narration was very good.

Repetitive

This book was repetitive in a few ways. One, there were several plot points in common with the first book. But mostly you had to hear about every major event twice; one from each point of view. And it was full repeats of the scenes, not just recaps the second time around. It was highly annoying by the end.

My favorite...

This was the highlight of the series for me. It's emotionally painful at some points but worth every angst.

Love is never planned.

Love does not see the difference in age, people judge. Love does not happen when we expect it. Love is unconditional & forgiving. Love is giving & everlasting. It is helpful, supportive, lasting, & makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Love is always positive, never hurtful!!

Drake had a rough childhood. He was doing OK until his mother remarried. His friends started noticing a change in him. He was sad & angry. One day he lost his temper & the most important person in his life. He started drinking Jack Daniels to help him sleep & to forget. He began to have horrific nightmares. Emmy, the little girl they had taken care of since she was 5, would soothe Drake when he had nightmares. Drake was miserable. He enjoyed playing music but nothing else in his life mattered.
The Band, Demons Wings, moved to California & bought a house. They needed a place to go when they had down time. Emmy, who they had adopted, was pregnant so they needed to stay put for awhile. She hired Layla to clean the house & cook. Jessie & Drake moved her & her 2 sisters into the quest house beside the mansion. When Drake first met her sister Lona, he was dazzled. There was an immediate attraction until he heard the word 17. He was not some purvert that would date someone that young but they could be friends. This is a wonderful book. I've read it about 20 times & I never get tired of it. I wish my husband treated me like Drake treats Lona.

Somewhat repetative

For this one it's mostly concurrent with the previous so we get different POV but basically retelling of events that already happened and not necessarily events we wanted the MCs POV for so it was a little tedious there but I do love this love story the most. Narration is again done well.

Repetition. So much.

I love this series and this story is great. However, I really really hate listening to the same dialogue over and over from different POV. This book picked up inside of the previous book so the first few chapters were just verbatim with a few holes filled in. I saw that being set up in the book for the next book and I’m on the fence on about reading/listening to it. The story’s are great but if I would of known it would be so much repetition I don’t think I would of started the series.

Narrator is great.

Best of the series so far

I liked how Lana gave Drake peace, and he loved her so completely. I also like books where the couple has to be tested several times and have angst. Perfect narration.

Good Series

Still enjoying the series. There is a lot of overlapping but it kind of jive to get each couple perspectives on what’s going on. Looking forward the Shane’s story.

Another great addition to the Rockers series!

Loved this book. The timeline on this one backtracks but then speeds through certain aspects covered in the previous book. As with the previous books we have then likable men of Demon Wings and the women who love them. My one complaint about the book was that it gets a little angsty with some stupidity on the part of the characters. Overall though I consider this a fine addition to the series.

I was excited to read this. But I just felt like a lot of the story threads were wrapped up too quickly with next to no grovelling whatsoever. From anyone. And I just wasn't all that cool with that. But it wasn't bad. I just keep hoping for more form every book and I keep not getting it.
