Reseñas editoriales
With the vague childhood memory that his grandfather was murdered, author Rick Porrello delves deep into his family’s history and the world of organized crime. Porrello’s The Rise and Fall of the Cleveland Mafia is a fascinating and thorough look at one of the most notorious crime families in America. At the height of their power, led by the likes of Angelo "Big Ange" Lonardo, the Cleveland Mafia was third in power after New York City and Chicago. Performed here with an intense energy by Keith Spillett, this audiobook provides a fascinating glimpse at the once-mighty Cleveland branch of the Sicilian-American Mafia.

I had an interest in the story as my grandfather was a detective on the Cleveland police force in th red c30' to the 52. My mother and her brother were given police protection because of the work their father did.
Loved how the book tied the Cleveland mafia to other cities, the unions, and various enterprises. Interestingly, I worked for a member if the Milkwaukee Balestrari family in the early 70's at their restaurants when I was just 21. I had heard they were tied to the mafia. but never saw any of that activity.
Good, detailed account of the Mafia in Cleveland
