All Around Great Listen (One of the best in genre)

This book grabs you from start to finish. Get a lot of great stories and scenes from a new perspective, especially around Gotti and and the Gambino family. Also gives you more insight into the day-to-day life and how vice-driven the life really is underneath it all. If you are a mafia buff or looking for a good read on La Cosa Nostra, this one is for you.

great book

I love reading and listening to real life mafia books and memoirs and I have to say that this one is in my top 3 possibly # 1 I recommend it to any mafia true crime fan.

Loved it, good read, good story. Better then the other book of his life "Sins of the Father".

Great read!

I really appreciate Sal sharing his crazy life experiences with us. He lived a crazy life. this is one of the more honest and better mob books I've read.

A story about Wiseguys told by a Wiseguy

I really enjoyed this. Narration was perfect for the genre. I've been on a "mob kick" for months now taking in all I can.
This is a historical look at Mafia history, told as an entertaining story. Think Goodfellas, Casino, etc.
I could and probably will, listen to this again down the road.

Fun in a Self Serving way

An interesting take from someone who actually liked John Gotti. Most mob tell-alls from the era never have many flattering things to say about the dapper don, so it was a nice point of view.

By far though, my favorite part was Sal Polisi's description of his sexual prowess. Apparently it was so potent that the dominatrix lesbian prostitute he banged melted, turned straight, and forgot to charge him.

Overall, most of the events Polosi talks about line up with the other books I've read. So, grain of salt on the love life. Enjoy the rest.

Very entertaining.

Good mafia book but

This was a good book about the mafia but it relies to much on name dropping. Sal Polisi talks about turning over a new leaf but even then you don't believe him. This is the second book where I dislike the author more after I was done reading it then before I read it. The first book like that was The Wolf of Wall Street. this is an enjoyable book for anybody that's interested in the mafia some of the more famous things have conflicting stories from what you may have read in the past so it's hard to tell what's true and what's not

Great book

I got this book for my book club but quickly fell in love with the story line. I ordered it in hard bound to add to my library of good books. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes crime history told first person.

Excellent!

This is by far one of the best told stories of the 70’s NY mob. I’ve listened to dozens of books thru the years, I enjoyed the narration. Well worth the purchase.
