In Pal-ul-don Tarzan finds a real Jurassic Park filled with dinosaurs, notably the savage Triceratops-like Gryfs, which, unlike their prehistoric counterparts, are predatory. Story
The Jungle Tales of Tarzan, book six of the Tarzan series, consists of 12 short stories loosely connected to each other, although each one can stand on its own. They fill in many details of Tarzan's youth and adolescence in the jungle, while still living with the tribe of great apes that reared him. Mr. Burroughs, much like Gene Roddenberry half a century later, was able to make very trenchant comments on our life and society by setting his stories outside our normal recognizable world.

Not as Good as the Original
If you really wish to continue the Tarzan story than this book is ok. It is very far fetched with many coincidences which occur so that characters will not drop out of the narrative. It would seem that there are only about 10 people in the world because they just keep happening to bump into each other.
I also did not like the narrator Shelly Frasier as much as James Slattery who narrated the first volume.

A Perfect Sequel to the Original. A must read!
This book picks up right where the first one left off. Tarzan's journeys and his evolution as a man and then de-evolution bring the King of the Apes full circle. I was hooked from the beginning and and my attention was held throughout. This book is very much an adventure romance, and leaves you wanting more.

Narrator is the problem
The second of the Tarzan series is, as was the first, a wonderful story. The problem with this rendition is the narrator. She mispronounces English words, which is bad enough, but her pronunciation of the French is attrocious. Monsieur is pronounced "Miz zur," without fail. Do not fail to listen to this excellent story, but choose the other narrator that Audible offers. Although I have only experienced a third narrator, whose name escapes me, when I listened to Tarzan of the Apes (he was great!), anyone is likely to be better than Shelly.

DISAPPOINTED
I really like the first book. This one however went into way too much, unbelievable, detail of his life in France, U.S., and Europe. Though the book got better toward the end - dealing with his adventure in the lost city, (which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars)I hated the ending.

A Tired Tarzan
It took sixty years but I finally got around to reading the first two books in the Tarzan series. Maybe it's because I have read the science fiction of Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, Norton, and Le Guinn, as well as Burroughs Barsoom series decades ago, but Tarzan proved to be a mighty chore I was glad to be done with. The books entire story arc revolves around a beach somewhere on the west coast of southern Africa. I opted to purchase the stories because I simply could not believe that the Tarzan movies imbecilic depiction of Tarzan (Weissmuller) was accurate. It wasn't, making the movies inaccurate, stupid, and no longer watchable. I pray the celluloid decays beyond all viewing. As to the books, after an interminable childhood and young adulthood, with too many mighty muscles, Tarzan literally meets Jane. The only good thing I can say about that is that nowhere does he say, "Me Tarzan, you Jane." They leave the little hut on the coast, travel their separate ways and then guess what? They wind up back in the little hut on the coast again. That stupid little hut is like a black hole around which the entire universe circles. Leave, fall back into the hut. Mighty muscles carry them away but they come back to the hut. If I NEVER hear the phrase "mighty muscles" again it will be far too soon.
