Publisher's Summary

In 1964, Little Big Man gave us the reminiscences of Jack Crabb - a white orphan raised among the Cheyenne - who returns to "civilized" society, where (among other things) he tangles with Wyatt Earp and Wild Bill Hickok, and ends up as the only white survivor of Custer's Last Stand. At the end of Little Big Man, Jack's supposed death at age 111 cut short his tale. A newly discovered manuscript, however, reveals that Jack had faked his death to get out of his publishing contract, and he now picks up the story of his extraordinarily action-packed life.

Sequel not up to snuff

What did you like best about The Return of Little Big Man? What did you like least?

The original Little Big Man was terrific fun. This one is, by comparison, a bit tedious and directionless, and the main character seems rather depressed. I recommend you listen to the first volume, if you have not already, but skip this.

Inspiring, period.

I've loved this story my whole life. The narrator IS Jack Crabb. I'm sorry the journey is over.....until next time!

A pale shadow of “Little big man”.

“Little Big Man” is an undoubted American classic. This sequel falls very flat, sadly. 4

A classic masterpiece

A fantastic story touching on some pivotal western history which was well read and hard to put down.

Great story, great narrator, great everything. Loved the first one and this was just as good! Read the first book first though.

Jack Crabb rides again

Having read the first book of this set ( Little Big Man), I was glad to see part 2. I think you could listen to this without listening to the other , but why miss out on the fun ?
I think this would be especially good for those that like Westerns or learning a bit about some of the famous people from those days. This being fictional, I'm not sure how closely it would follow the facts, but it's a rip-roaring good read, all the same.
I tend to like books with old curmudgeons in them so this does not disappoint. Jack Crabb had a story to tell and he didnt complete it in book one.
A bonus to this is the narrator, Scott Sowers. Perfect voice for this crotchety old cowboy.

Really enjoyed this a lot! Easy to pick up and put down again as I mostly listen on my commutes.

Little Big Man Take II

Fabulous book, great narration. If I could, I would have listened to it in one session. A joy to listen to.

At every historical event?

I really liked it but was in awe of just how much of western history Jack witnessed and participated in.
