Publisher's summary

She longs for the perfect life...but can she find it in death?

High school history teacher April Carter never asked to be an angel. When she dies at the young age of 30, she should go to heaven like a normal person. Instead, she wakes up in the afterlife as an angel-in-training with Damian as her mentor. She had enough of the insufferable man in life.

Now...she might as well be in hell.

Damian plans to help April cross over and be done with her. Being assigned as her trainer is the last thing he needs. She's stubborn and strong-willed, and she's ignited a fire in his soul he didn't think could ever burn again.

But April might not be cut out to be an angel.

Can Damian teach her the ways of the guardians?

Or will her stubbornness be the end of them both?

If you like steamy romance with tortured heroes, you'll love this enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance.

Critic reviews

"I think this is the very first time I've read a book with angels in it that didn't involve battles with demons. It was actually refreshing to see the conflict arise that had nothing to do with 'evil' as much as the struggles with the basic human condition." (Up 'Til Dawn Book Blog)

Sweet Guardian Angel Romance

I really enjoyed the premise for The Rest of Forever. I liked Pulkinen's take on the guardian angel angle; it felt unique, and the romance is really sweet. The narrator did a good job with the audio, and I'd recommend listening if you have the chance. It's a male narrator, and he had a nice tone to his voice. I liked the connection between April and Damian, and I enjoyed the little bit of forbidden love aspect to the story. Damian has been April's guardian angel for almost 30 years. He feels deeply for her, but a bad experience from his past is messing with his present and his future. Damian's issues cause some problems for April and Him. He tries to push her away, and it ends up affecting his job of protecting April. April is a teacher, who wants the perfect life, but unfortunately, her current boyfriend leaves a lot to be desired. She's in for a surprise when she learns about her guardian angel, and takes a closer look at her life. I had a hard time liking April. She's so blinded by her idea of the "perfect" life, she misses all the bad in her life. Her boyfriend Jared is horrible, but she's so desperate to not be alone, she doesn't see it clearly. They've only been together for a year, and she knows deep down that something isn't right, but she keeps wallowing about getting married. She talks about Damian being mean to her, but all I read was her being rude to him. Damian pretty much helps her all the time, and she's so blind to all he does for her. She's a brat a lot of the time, and it did become frustrating at times. In the end, she wasn't my favorite, but I liked the rest of the story. I liked the slow burn betwee
