The Rescue: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience! *

In this heartfelt romance from number one New York Times best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, a daring volunteer fireman rescues a single mom - only to discover that falling in love might be the greatest risk of all.

When confronted by raging fires or deadly accidents, volunteer fireman Taylor McAden feels compelled to take terrifying risks to save lives. But there is one leap of faith Taylor can't bring himself to make: He can't fall in love. For all his adult years, Taylor has sought out women who need to be rescued, women he leaves as soon as their crisis is over and the relationship starts to become truly intimate.

When a raging storm hits his small Southern town, single mother Denise Holton's car skids off the road. The young mom is with her four-year-old son Kyle, a boy with severe learning disabilities and for whom she has sacrificed everything. Taylor McAden finds her unconscious and bleeding, but does not find Kyle. When Denise wakes, the chilling truth becomes clear to both of them. Kyle is gone. During the search for Kyle, a connection between Taylor and Denise takes root. Taylor doesn't know that this rescue will be different from all the others.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

The rescue

The music drove me crazy! The beginning is great with the storm, then...constant piano scales. I usually don’t mind some music but this goes on for 10 hours! I would listen to an alternate version. The book is good fairly tale ending.

Good book

The book and reader were very good. The music throughout the entire book was extremely distracting as well as the volume which would be quiet and then loud.

The music is so distracting. I couldn't continue listening. Save your credits and go buy the book instead.

Poorly read

I love Nicholas Sparks book and was excited to listen to this. I was disappointed and irritated after it began. The music and sounds during the entire book made it nearly impossible to enjoy the content of the book. The noise and background music was a loud as the reader. And the music was obnoxious. Not even

Good story, but didn’t like music

Nicholas Sparks never disappoints. This is another feel good story. However, we disliked the music so much, I exchanged the Booktrack Edition for the regular book.

Overwhelming Music

Struggled to hear narrator. I wanted a book not a piano recital. Made it not fun.

Slow read

There was way too much detail. I fast forwarded a few times. Voices are a little slow and drawn out. Great for listening before bed but that's about it. Definitely not my favorite of his.

Review

The music in the background is so distracting. The piano at times were louder than the words. Made it hard to listen to the story. Why does this even need to be in the story? I bought the book not the music.
