Publisher's summary

Too many years of hunting psychotic vampires night after night have left Rachel with a need for change. So when the opportunity to travel across the galaxy aboard a Lasaran warship to a utopian planet arises, the powerful Immortal Guardian jumps at the chance. Rachel eagerly looks forward to making a fresh start . . . until an enemy attacks and she ends up alone in an escape pod so far from alliance-occupied space that no one can hear her communications. No one except a renegade cyborg who shouldn't exist.

After a hard-fought rebellion, Wonick and his cyborg brethren settled on a distant planet, where they've finally carved out a peaceful existence. The Aldebarian Alliance believes every Akseli cyborg died long ago. And Wonick is determined to prevent anyone from discovering otherwise, knowing such would spark the fiercest manhunt in the galaxy. Yet when he hears Rachel's communications, temptation drives him to speak to her, sparking friendship and a longing for a different future. Rachel finds Wonick even more appealing when she meets him in person, and their friendship soon deepens into love as the cyborgs cautiously welcome her into the fold. But the warriors' ability to collect intel uncovers a secret the enemy has guarded for decades, one that compels them to embark upon a mission fraught with danger.

Contains mature themes.

The suspense and unexpected turns in the story were awesome…

Once again the characters were well developed and the setting well laid out. Thanks for a fun listen that pull me into another world and allow me to get away in the moment.

Great Story

The story is wonderful. The characters are outstanding and strong. I look forward to the day Dianne Duvall’s books are dramatized with a full cast of actors and sound effects.

A new favorite Immortal Guardian

Each book in this series gets better and better. Rachel is my kind of heroine. Smart, fierce, funny, loyal, and loving. The Cyborgs are all honorable, strong, and deserving of so much love. All the accomplishments in this book was unexpected but very satisfying. This was funny, romantic, adventurous, heartwarming, a tear-jerker, and action packed. I loved every minute of it. The Cyborgs and Rachel kicked some serious ass and I can't wait to see where next Dianne takes us in this amazing series. If you’re looking for a book without miscommunication, preconceived notions, is romantic, adventurous, and hilarious then I recommend all of Dianne Duvall's books!

Another stunner from Dianne Duvall

I am hopelessly in love with all things Immortal Guardian and Aldebarian Alliance! Rachel and Wonick were so adorable together and it was so cool to finally venture to an alien home world! Kirsten Potter is the absolute GOAT and her portrayal of this series just gets better and better!

The camaraderie that was showed. That even though people had scares from life they were still all the same.

I loved the heroine and the courage she showed. I enjoyed the narrator and how she was really believable in her voices for everyone. Excellent writing!! Can’t wait for the next book.

Now we get to meet Cyborg's!

4.5 Stars 🌟

This was a REALLY good book week. There were several new releases this week in already existing series that I had been looking forward to and this was one of them. I am happy to say that Ms. Duvall did not let me down.

There is something about this series - well, this entire world, because this is a spin off of the original series, The Immortal Guardians - that I seem to have just really fallen in love with. If you were to tell me that I would be so excited about a series dealing with evil vampires and the Immortal Guardians who hunt them, who are now in space traveling to a new planet, whose space ship get attacked and destroyed......I'm not sure I would have believed you. But, man I love this series.

This book introduces us to Wonick, one of the Cyborg's who have escaped The Aldebarian Alliance and created a home on a distant planet. Rachel, an Immortal Guardian who escaped the attack on an escape pod, finds herself all alone and too far away from any foreseeable help before she runs out of oxygen or power. She begins broadcasting recorded daily hour long sessions of music to try to see if anyone out there can here her.

The Cyborg's have the very latest technology - they are a form of AI after all - and intercept her messages fairly quick. The dilemma comes in because even responding one time may alert SOMEONE to their presence, and that could be deadly to their society. So, the story begins there.

I have to admit, I really fell in love with the Cyborg's. They were such an incredible group of men who had undergone such horrifying experiences. Even with everything they had been through, they were all just great men. Wonick was especially easy to like. Rachel herself was a great FMC. She was somehow extremely confident but did not come across as arrogant. She was genuinely nice and caring and respectful from the very beginning, and it was fun watching the relationship with Wonick develop.

There is, of course, quite the bit of action in this book and eventually, we get somewhat of a reunion between many of the previous characters. As I've mentioned before, I quite enjoy this series and am looking forward to seeing what is up next in the series. Lots has happened in the past few books and there are many directions that this series can go. All I know is that it is an auto buy for me and I will be eagerly awaiting the next book.

I love this series!

The story series is amazing! I love them so much that I listen to them pretty much nonstop. Once I get them , them in as any book of the series! The narrator is amazing. The characters are awesome, relatable, strong, and so likable there’s plenty of action, humor, and humanity, which is amazing Five stars all the way!

Awesome!

I can’t believe it’s over! I loved it. Rachel has always been one of my favorite IG’s and her sheer exuberance made this a delightful listen. I’m glad she found happiness with her cyborg. Now to get some more human females to their planet…Savus needs some relief too! The narrator did an excellent job and I’m happy it was a voice I recognized. Great job !!
