The novel, a depiction of the cruelty of the American Civil War, features 18-year-old private Henry Fleming, who deserts his battalion. Boring narrator, maybe?

I loved the book reading it as a kid but listening to this audio book put me to sleep and I think much of that, had to do with the narrator's voice.
