Publisher's summary

Marked for death by a powerful demon mage, brother swordsman Kildare and Zedaine make their way toward the ancient city of Gallanse. When their journey takes a turn for the worst, they are left with no recourse but to trust in a wayward Triton of the Crystalline Sea in the hope he can lead them to their destination in time.

Locked in a cell atop the Gray Spire, Princess Lydia stands accused of murder. Abandoned by her lover, the princess rises to the challenge and embarks on a desperate plan to win back her freedom. Hiding in the shadows of the lower city, Macklore, ambassador of Brisbane, works frenetically to prove his innocence and that of the princess. Hounded on all sides, Macklore must choose between saving his love or fulfilling his duties as ambassador as ordered by his king.

Unknown to them all, a great evil stirs. Chameleon, a tribeswoman and descendent of the doomed people of the Alo-Shen, holds the key to halting the return of ancient enemy. Demons, banished some four millennia past, strive to make their way back to the only world ever known to thwart their power. Along with the mysterious psychic Ty, Chameleon must convince her Xenophobic leaders to unlock the secrets of their past in order to defeat the demons to come.

In a world of swords and sorcery, a city of blood and chaos, only one can rise and command the great city of Gallanse. Only one can claim the title of High Lord of Shaara. Only one can ascend and sit upon the ancient granite of the Gray Throne.

Simply fantastic. Amazing!

Once again I have been impressed with the turn of events in the 2nd book of the raven and the crow. Amazing, fantastic, exciting, the list goes on and I fear that there are not enough words to properly describe how this book has made me feel. I was kept on the edge of my seat with anticipation for what was to come and often so much so that while working on my projects, I lost myself and had to start over. That is saying something in itself.

As with the first book, Saxon has brought a thrilling story to life and has once again left me wanting for more. keep up the good work!

Another great story in the Raven and Crow series!

Book #2 keeps you equally engaged as the first Book. Great storyline, plenty of action and clearly pulls you into the story so that you can almost feel and see what your hearing/reading.

rarely these days...

I go through spans of time, after a GOOD series, where every new prospective book looks and sounds so BORING. Then a series like this pops up. Completely rekindles my absolute adoration of the genre. The narration was SPECTACULAR, the plot characters and setting where magnificent, and the DIALOGUE, dude oh my words, the dialogue was so profoundly good, it made me renegotiate my expectations of what that should be like in a book. I was so into the relationships and the comedy in dark places aspect of these at one point, I forgot what I was doing (literally my job) and just stood in place and ENJOYED it. hands down one of my new favorite series EVAH.

smooth transition between book 1 and 2

This story has had so many more secrets and twists than I could have guessed. What a performance in the courtroom. There's so many points of view were getting the story from that it really helps keep track of the growing number of players involved in all the political scheming.

I am disappointed that I have to wait for the 3rd book! Very excited to see where it takes us next.
