Gag me please
First of all the narrator is great... But this book has more sex than it needs to be. There are barely survival strategies for an EMP. I find myself skipping through these sex scenes because they are similar. spoiler alert!!!
I hate how that these women have been tortured for months and all of a sudden hopping into random guys bed the same day they meet after being "traumatized" REALLY?!?! WHAT SHELTERED HOUSEWIFE IMAGINATION IS THIS? obviously she has never experience rape know someone who has or the emotional trauma real women go through. I couldn't finish this book, gave me a major headache.

Horrible! Unrealistic.
If you are looking for a disaster or apocalyptic genre book don’t buy this one! If you want a book that is mostly porn level sex scenes ( oral, anal, vaginal, teenage male rape, graphic scenes of females and an 18 year old male getting raped) set in a poorly researched/designed Post-EMP world then go ahead.
Graphic rape scenes are constant. The author has little to no concept of the genre or of any aspect of what would be involved in for survival. (Says a single deer will provide sufficient meat for two adults for a year; has people planting seeds directly from a tomato into the ground in the Northeast. And those are just two tiny examples. I could find hundreds of others that make the book a dud.)
The book is filled with dozens upon dozens of long, constant extremely graphic sex scenes. These also sound like they were written by a man who knows nothing about women’s sexuality or desires or needs. Some of these scenes go on for several minutes. Vaginal sex, oral sex between people who haven’t had access to baths in weeks or months or even a year, anal sex, 3-ways, constant rape (including multiple graphic oral and anal rape scenes of an 18 year old male).
It got so bad I had to fast forward through the rape and sex scenes because they were so nasty and constant. I’m no prude. I don’t mind sex scenes in books but this level for a book that seemed to be a disaster type book was ridiculous.

The reader was awful!!!
I probably would have stop listening to the book a long time ago if it wasn't a series and I didn't already purchase it. the reader was like listening to a monotone Keanu Reeves. he had no range of emotion for the characters other than being the difference between male and female. The storyline was decent and explicit. but I didn't mind that part.

Repeditive......and where did all the paper go?
Listen to all 3 books. Not the worst I have heard, however the story became very repetitive (yes - even the sex). I am usually fairly forgiving as far as plot reality goes (and maybe I was just getting bored) but having to manufacture a substitute for paper after 1 year - really. I am not convinced that the paper supplies would be exhausted after 1 year without manufacture. Paper is not the number 1 go to survival item when the world as you know it is ending. Normally something like this would not worry me ...........but for some reason this did.
Have a listen. I would suggest listening to them individually spaced over a reasonable time period rather than consecutively.
