Publisher's Summary

Are you walking the spiritual path and curious about psychedelics? Journey along with a meditation master and former "pharmacological purist" as he explores the spiritual heart of the psychedelic experience to discover the potential benefits and dangers of these substances.

Richard L. Haight, a master swordsman, meditation expert, and best-selling author of The Unbound Soul provides an extraordinarily powerful, unbiased account of hallucinogens as they relate to the spiritual path.

For his journeys, Haight makes use of three ancient shamanic plants found in South, Central, and North America, and he reveals a cutting-edge perspective that catalyzes tremendous personal transformation.

The Psychedelic Path is an audiobook for you if:

  • You are serious about spiritual awakening but are unsure whether psychedelics are right for you.
  • You are frightened by the prospect of "bad trips" but still feel pulled to psychedelics.
  • You already employ psychedelics but are looking for a fresh, more powerful approach.
  • You want to confront your own deepest, oldest inner demons, but you're having trouble "getting there".
  • You want to live a life filled with love and courage, beyond all excuses.

Listen to The Psychedelic Path to begin this fascinating exploration today.

Not much about psychedelics

I had a hard time listening to this. I quit listening after chapter 7. There was very little information about psychedelics. This book was not at all what I expected or was looking for. I am curious about opening my mind more but I didn't really care about what he saw when hiding from his wife in the bathroom taking a hallucinogen. I found this to be irresponsible and dangerous and not at all educational as far as spiritual awakening. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Definitely Interesting

Wow, very interesting perspective. This is so not my thing, but I listened with an open mind in the search to understand a different perspective. While this won't change my mind on the path I chose (with God), I completely respect your opinion and found this very interesting. I think anyone who's versed on the subject or has any interest will find it awesome. I always want to learn, whether it's good for me or not, and I definitely learned a lot about the subject. :)

Take It or Leave It

I wan't overly impressed with this book. The author didn't talk much about shaman plants. It was more about himself and hiding from his wife, as well as claiming he didn't need psychedelics yet he does them anyway. The narration was good but the story wasn't what the title says it is. Sorry, not much else worth saying about this book, try it at your own risk.

Take This Book With a Grain of Salt

Audiobook: The Psychedelic Path
An Exploration of Shamanic Plants for Spiritual Awakening
A generous three stars

I'm not sure how I felt about this audiobook. I'm over 50 and have learned early on not to believe everything you read (or hear). I'd like to make it clear that I have zero interest in using hallucinagenic drugs or anything else. I love the idea of higher enlightenment but through other channels. I meditate, reflect, and pray daily,

I would recommend NOT doing the drugs to explore deeper into the mind or for a 'vision quest' or anything else however I've known people that have taken acid and didn't have all these negative experiences.

I don't want to denigrate this author's experiences with hallucinagenic plants or anything else but a lot of this sounded like hogwash. Too much about demons, tricksters, Jesus, and suicide. Pass....
