Publisher's Summary

"My name is Amelia Gray. I am the Graveyard Queen, a cemetery restorer who sees ghosts. My father passed down four rules to keep me safe, and I've broken every last one. A door has opened and evil wants me back.

"In order to protect myself, I've vowed to return to those rules. But the ghost of a murdered cop needs my help to find his killer. The clues lead me to the dark side of Charleston—where witchcraft, root doctors and black magic still flourish—and back to John Devlin, a haunted police detective I should only love from afar.

"Now I'm faced with a terrible choice: follow the rules or follow my heart."

Amelia Gray: doormat

Good Lord, woman. Be bold! Shiver. Shake. Shudder. Tingled. Prickles. GAZE. Heart pounding. Stevens uses the same tired phrases over and over across all 3 books thus far. The plot is ok, I stayed with it to find out if Amelia and Devlin ever get to have actual sex. They do. Finally! So many tired clichés. So many repeated phrases.

Creepy but good.

Parts of this are down right creepy but it's a good book. Parts of the ending were pretty clearly coming but parts surprised me and that is good. She cleaned up the end but still left lingering questions that would lead you to another book if she'd just write it and I would read it.

Never a quibble with Khristine Hvam's. She always does a great job.

Sorry... I was bored and my mind started wandering

Amelia is nearly out of her depths in the latest Graveyard Queen story. She's back home in her usual haunts with Devlin's ghosts causing havoc. I find I just don't care much what happens to her and it's kinda same sh.. different book deal until the end of the book when there is a shift in her and Devlin's relationship (hallelujah about time) but it was all too little too late.

Worth my credit? No sorry, it's just not my type of book I'm afraid.

Meh.

I adored the first two books. This one…. not so much. The ending was really great, but the first 7 hours couldn't hold my attention. I read two other books while I was listening to this one.

Creepy ghosts, creepy people, secrets revealed!

The Prophet
By: Amanda Stevens
Narrated by: Khristine Hvam
This book ha Amelia back home but what awaits her is the ghosts from book one. She also has one that is stronger. There is also someone that has special supernatural or voodoo type powers. Very suspenseful. Special secrets revealed! Non-stop creepiness! Her private and hallowed, sacred ground that kept things undead out of her house was breached by a ghost! Good creepy book about ghost and creepy people!
Great narration!

Deja vu

I'm sorry but havent we been here before?! Ad nauseam? Right off the bat we get Pa's "rules" hammered in "ignore the ghosts" and once AGAIN she ignores them over her own strenuous hopeless objections🙄 Then come the "chills up the spine", hair raising, ice cold breeze, Dezlin makes me jello", blah, blah, blah. He grabs her, she goes stupid, blah blah blah.
It was just too much to go thru AGAIN

A worthy sequel in a great series with the best narrator

I was surprised at the lukewarm reviews for this third book in her series. I really enjoyed it. I loved it, actually. I thought the supernatural elements were riveting. Better than Book II. For those who say Amelia acts out of character, I do not agree. I think she is evolving in the series as her experiences become more intense. I will say she is a bit more prone to swooning over the man in this one, which is the only thing I didn't love. But otherwise, I would and will recommend it

This narrator is my favorite of all audible books I have experienced. Her character nuances are perfect!

Lackluster

The narrator carried me through, but the last in this series seems rushed and disjointed. What about Asherfalls? She threw away characters to easily.
Amelia didnt seem herself in this book and not because she was haunted. She became too insecure and repeated things too much.

I sped through this one.

I really enjoyed this series!!!

I'm always looking for a new series to get into and i'm glad I found this one some of the post say its scary but I would say more like creepy here and there. There is not a lot of action in this series but it still holds your attention the love story is good although I wish she would be more assertive Amelia is the prime candidate for damsel in distress of the year. That gets to be a bit much as i am used to reading stories with strong female characters that kick butt. This does not take away from the story however I hope their is a 4th book cause i'm really into this but the way it ended it can go either way the narrator is good she helps suck you into the story she did a great job. I would say give it a try I think you will like it.
