This Answers: What the Heck is Project Management?

What made the experience of listening to The Project Manager the most enjoyable?

I am not really into project management, and I couldn't figure out why people were so passionate about it. By writing a fable about how project management principles could be applied to life, Amy Hamilton's book helped me better to understand the PMP crowd.

What did you like best about this story?

It made Ashley seem like a real person. She didn't just have career goals, but she had family and pets and a life. She reminded me that I'm not the only one who sometimes makes it look like we have it all together at work, but then struggle with life stuff.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It kept me engaged, but it didn't take me to extremes. Although I may have laughed out loud and talked back to the narrator on a few occasions. (Does that count as extreme?)

Any additional comments?

Because I was listening to the book, I wasn't able to see illustrations. I know some audiobooks come with PDF downloads; perhaps that would be a useful addition to this book.

That said, I love that giving this book as a gift gives me an easy way to help out friends and co-workers who want to know more about project management, PMP, PMBOK, etc.

Indeed, life is a project!

The book remembers me the best seller book “The goal” that was all about finding the bottleneck. this one is all about considering the triple constrain of project management, the basics, to achieve personal goals. It brings examples of how Project Management skills can help anyone in achieving personal projects such as moving to a new house, getting fit, planning vacations.

I highly recommend the book for all project managers, aspirants and people interested to Project Management!
