WTH

There's no way in hell I would still be with this sorry excuse for a man 😡. He was soooo disrespectful to his wife on so many levels it's ridiculous. Shelia was a nut basket but I blame the husband for that as well. He didn't love his wife, he just love the control, Shelia was his real love and it show smh. I wish the wife had the strength to divorce him and be with a real man Rice, they deserve each other

This story was absolutely amazing. The plot and message behind this story is incredible. Overall an amazing read.

Annoying!!!

Honestly, this story wore me out!! Jake was a jerk! Tori, dumb as a rock and Sheila is a demon! This entire story took too long to be so annoying!!

This is what’s wrong with the church.

Warning! Spoilers—>The man cheats. Gets caught. His wife leaves with their baby in tow. He goes after her and takes the baby thinking it will force his wife to follow. He gets in a car accident and the baby doesn’t make it. At the hospital he then calls the mistress (who is his business partner) and gets her to sneak him out of the hospital. He cuts off all contact with his wife and family for a year out of “guilt”. Only maintaining contact with the mistress/business partner/ “friend.” But he loves his wife? Sure. LOL.

Comes back without telling anyone and sees someone else interested in his wife and he decides to make his presence known. Expects immediate forgiveness and to go back to the way things were. While STILL allowing the side piece to be out of pocket, boundary-less and disrespectful in public and private. Unwilling to believe anyone he “loves “ when they tell him she can’t be trusted and coming to her defense often.

But his wife just continues to pray and everyone just tells her to forgive him then all is well?!?! He refuses therapy or church guidance but sure he’ll do “anything” to stay married. It took him recognizing that the mistress was trying to trap him with a baby that he realized that everyone he loved was right about the mistress? Cmon son.

Meanwhile his wife had a childhood friend who truly loves, respects and supports her but she ain’t willing to divorce this disrespectful/selfish man she married. The husband and mistress should’ve been together and the wife and friend should’ve been together. They’re just better fits for one another.

The lack of any true accountability for men who violate their vows to God and their spouse in the church is further supported in this book and it’s sad. Women if you truly LOVE GOD and love the life He blessed you with, don’t believe that He called you to be someone’s servant or play thing. You are called to greater and you deserve a man who recognizes and treats you as such.

Great Book!

I enjoyed the book and the narration. I am familiar with this author and she always gives a good story. And I wanted to choke Shelia. Just the name is going to give me flashbacks!

Engaging Story

I can’t tell you how many times I yelled at Tory. The story keeps you engaged and it’s a reminder that I just got to mind my own business. Can’t judge what God has told Tory to do in her marriage. The story pulls you in and you won’t be able to help yourself as you speak out loud to the characters.

Unrealistic

One of the most unrealistic books I’ve ever read. The storyline was weak and completely unconvincing. After everything that happened—the accident, the affair, and then him disappearing for an entire year—it’s simply not believable that the characters ended up living “happily ever after.”

Horrible read

This story was hard to get through. I had to see it through but I disliked everything from the narrator, to the plot, through to the ending. It was absolutely maddening. It dig out a hopeless plot, ridden with unrealistic scenarios with unrealistic outcomes.

Please be for real. If this is a cautionary tail in the form of satire then I will say it’s a good read. If the author is being serious, keep your coin and skip this because the way the story is trying to gaslight the reader into believing who is the victim, the villain and standing up for themselves is wild.
