Publisher's summary

The adventure continues with the thrilling follow-up to Amazon best seller, The Medici Letters: The Secret Origins of the Renaissance.

A scientific breakthrough uncovers an ancient time capsule of knowledge. However, what is discovered may change our view on history...and time, forever.

A year has passed since Professor Jack Cullen and his wife Kat nearly lost their lives uncovering the secret of the Medici family treasure. Yet, much of what they uncovered is still locked away in a time-release code.

London, England. A revolutionary decryption program known as TETRA emerges, revealing a cipher with immeasurable power. However, as quickly as the cipher surfaces, it goes missing. Jack's friend and fellow classicist, Egan Church, pursues the cipher by following a mysterious note written five hundred years before by Niccolo Machiavelli. Church ends up in Italy, descending deep into the path of a shadowy brotherhood known as The Prince's Order.

While vacationing in Paris, Jack, Kat, and their two daughters are intercepted by a group of mercenaries on a mission to stop The Prince's Order from fulfilling a cataclysmic, age-old prophecy. The Cullen family discover the only way to survive is by unraveling an ancient legend and fulfilling a lost search for illumination.

As Jack pursues his missing friend, and Kat works to reprogram TETRA, the Cullen family find themselves evading capture, deciphering ancient ciphers, and discovering the shocking secret behind one of history's most famous, political sages.

How you perceive history and the lives of the Renaissance Greats will be forever changed.

This saga blends a modern-day thriller with historic accounts of Niccolò Machiavelli in Renaissance Florence in a non-stop ride with twists, turns, and shocking revelations.

Just remarkable

Niccolo Machiavelli is a fascinating figure from history, his words during the renaissance, especially The Prince are just remarkable, when I know that this story revolves around a mysterious note written five hundred years before by Niccolo Machiavelli, I knew I just had to listen to this one till the end. The character of Jack is strong and likeable while Kat is a strong female. As the story progresses it gets more engaging and interesting, the author Taylor Buck knows how to write a historical fiction with a blend of mystery.

Interesting listen

Even though most of the historical fiction are uninteresting but this grabbed my attention right from the start and in most way it surprised me, as this one is full of suspense, I have been a fan of Assassins creed game and through that game I came to know more about Niccolo Machiavelli, so after many years it was awesome to listen this audio book as it blends Niccolo Machiavelli work with modern day. The blend is done nicely by the author to give out a book that will be liked not only by the fans of historical fiction but also by anyone who likes to listen to a good thriller.
