A prince and princess from distant lands are destined to marry but must face many dangers and overcome trickery before they can finally be wed.
Robbers, trolls, wild beasts, and more all feature in this delightful retelling of the classic Danish fairy tale.
The tale is made for children and is especially suitable for bedtime!

Great story, wonderfully narrated, and definitely had a lot of complexity to it for a kids' book - really enjoyed it, and kids who have listened have enjoyed it too :)

PRETTY DARN COOL

This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator/author ( Clive Johnson ) and I would listen to another. He reads with a lilting style that makes this obviously sound like a fairy tale. I don’t think I’d like it in a regular novel.
He had different voices for the various characters.
There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

Holy cow.
I knew intellectually that all of the familiar fairy tales were pretty wacky but they don't FEEL odd because they're all so well worn and familiar. Even though primarily composed of common fairy tale tropes, The Prince and the Princess in the Forest feels so much more bizarre due to lack of familiarity. I wonder if this is what all of the tales sound like to my kids.
It's been a very long time since I've experienced a new fairy tale and this one will have me looking at them in a new light now.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
