New Orleans, four months after the events of The Queen...
Søren has been suspended from the Jesuits for a minimum of one year after confessing to fathering a child. To say he's struggling with his newfound freedom is an understatement.
Kingsley is about to be a father again and is convinced something very bad is about to happen. Nerves? Or is he right that the time has come for the Sinners to pay for their sins?
And if things couldn't get worse, a handsome private detective shows up and tells Mistress Nora that a priest has just committed suicide, and she was the last person he tried to call. He would like to know why....
She doesn't know, but Nora and her new detective friend will turn over the city to find out, meeting liars, vampires, and witches along the way. When she finds what she's looking for, she may wish she'd never stepped foot in New Orleans.
Contains mature themes.

Featured Article: Steamy Listens as Irresistible as Fifty Shades of Grey
Fifty Shades of Grey has been a prominent title in erotica for nearly a decade. Considering that it's a wildly romantic story in which character development and sexual dynamics play equally strong roles, it’s quite a standout in its genre. Ask any fan and they’ll tell you that it’s not always easy to find something that has the same kind of tension and payoff as the Fifty Shades trilogy. Here are some books and series that fans of Fifty Shades are sure to love.

So far, Soren has sacrificed his passion for Elenor on the altar of Mastery and Ownership. The Dom-Sub dynamic remains a brick wall between them, compared with his relationship with Kingsley. Their similar age and history provide a seniority that is conducive to more expressive affection. Passion is the reason Soren is seen ardently kissing K while setting up the Christmas tree [Michael's Wings] and in the open doorway to the library [Wrapped in black]. When Eleanor arrives at the same house, Soren kisses her on the... cheek.
For all intents and purposes, both S and K are now family men and K's concern, re- explaining to the children [Wrapped in black], is quite valid. It might be time to archive this side of their relationship. To quote Kingsley: “A brooding sexual obsession with someone you dated in high school doesn’t really count as a relationship, does it?” “I made passes at you. She made sacrifices for you. If this was a competition between me and her and you were the prize, she should win, hands down.” [A Winter Symphony: A Christmas Novella]

What impresses me the most about THIS particular story is Reisz is not afraid to touch the taboo subject of Priests and the controversy in the church with children (to this point it was only on the periphery). This entire series is based on The Catholic Church, a Priest, and BDSM after all. All of this sounds really weird, and it would be if Reisz’s handling of it was less than stellar. She is a phenomenal cerebral writer who does not judge, but lets her readers determine what they want while giving them both sides of the argument. Meanwhile, Nora and Soren, even now, still suffer a crisis of conscience and faith. It is a never ending battle that is continuously looked at in the mirror. Even after listening to this book, there is more story to tell with Nora & Soren. I always look forward to Reisz’s books. She has never disappointed me. My guess is that if you want to listen to this book, you are already a Original Sinners fan, otherwise, none of this story will make sense to you.
The Narrators Sean Crisden, Excellent, and Elizabeth Hart, Excellent. First, Ms Hart will always be the voice of Nora, Soren, Kingsley and cast. Her handling of accents and characters is truly beautiful. Second, Mr Crisden is now a new favorite narrator for me.
It’s a detective story!

The friendship that developed between “”Cy and Nor” was so refreshing. The surprising storylines went there! Exploring the daily racism and continual feeling of fear that black men face as told from Cyrus’ point of view. And, the way Nora dealt with and overcame obstacles, dismissals and feelings of vulnerability that women experience were welcomed and excellent additions to this book.
Especially now.
Narration Perfection!

The real conflict is Eleanor's having to share Søren, not just for kink but for real. It's clear this has hurt Eleanor ... as this hurt is pending admission, I shan't 'cry more than the bereaved' ;)
However, at the risk of sounding morbid, here's hoping that an 'act of God' brings Fionn to Eleanor.
Looking forward to book 10!
