brilliant

thought it was a solid easy listen, right on all accounts but superficial till the last chapter. then I got a bit upset as he touched on some areas I understand extremely well..... but the closer. wow.

this is how you build a coalition. through both truth and relating with others. nothing else can work.

We are all biased - even the author :)

The book is quite interesting and worth listening/reading. It seems to be based on facts. The problem with facts is, however, that we tend to choose those that fit our story. The author is aware of this, but probably he doesn’t notice how stereotypical he is himself namely when judging faith and religion. It’s for him the root of all evil. I won’t argue with that because if you are biased you won’t understand it anyway. Facts that don’t fit to that story are negligible. The book explains well how confirmation bias works yet the author doesn’t recognize this in his attitude.

Even though I strongly disagree with certain claims I would recommend the book to others.

Jeff does a great job merging the effects of technology and the current macro back drop.

Eye opening topic

This is one of the world's largest problems that goes undiscussed in most circles and is not understood by many. The topic is how deflation will consume the world and as scary as that is, can actually lead us to prosperity in the future. The way Bitcoin fits into this narrative is fascinating. Essentially, our currently inflationary monetary system operates in a deflation system, which is the root cause of wealth inequality and disfunction in our institutions. What we need, and this book discusses, is a deflationary monetary system that captures the value created by technology in the form of lower prices of goods and services that will extend indefinitely. The book does a great job of discussing what this future would look like.

Only Criticism is that Booth does not discuss Bitcoin enough in the book. He limits Bitcoin to one chapter at the end. In the many podcasts I've seen from Booth he heavily focuses on Bitcoin, so I was a little surprised at how little he covered it in the book. Overall great and worthwhile read, especially if you are not familiar with this topic.

Hope

In a world of centralized governments playing God with our currencies there is hope. In times of desperation like the Nazi concentration camps of World War II there was hope. That hope is bitcoin. A decentralized monetary network that can bring deflation to the world. Abundance is just around the corner. Thank you Jeff Booth for giving humanity hope through a thoughtful discussion of our history of money and how the system we are currently in divides us. The book is very thought provoking and gives framework to imagine what technology will bring us in the future. Jeff inspires the reader to take a look at bitcoin without really going jnto detail. It leaves you wanting to ask questions and do your own research.

Couldn't "put it down" and appreciate author's candor about technology and the current decrepit economic system holding back the inevitable.

Great book.

I would recommend to anyone curious about money. Easy to follow. Well worth the read.
