Publisher's summary

Those of you living through the next 30 years will become the most powerful creatures that have ever existed. You will live long, novel lifestyles doing more significant, meaningful work. You will function as only geniuses could have done in the past. You will collaborate and share experiences in physical and virtual reality with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Innovations in medicine, seamless integration with automation, and unlimited cloud computing power make it possible.

You will have the opportunity and the duty to create a decidedly better world. You will need to develop the wisdom to use this expansive power in advance of receiving it. Your success will decide if the future is a new age of enlightenment or darkness. Experience and maturity alone cannot provide the required wisdom fast enough. You will need to maximize your innate potential to accelerate wisdom.

The Potentialist: Your Future in the New Reality of the Next Thirty Years explains the first steps to achieve your potential and accelerate wisdom. You will be encouraged to discard potential-limiting mindsets, wasteful habits, and destructive lifestyles that caused unnecessary suffering in prior generations. You will discover how forces of change create a better world—a New Reality—by breaking down the one we know. The pace of life will accelerate and become more turbulent. Institutions such as government, education, religion, news media, and many employers will be disrupted and become less reliable. But you will see the unfolding New Reality through the lens of opportunity instead of anxiety and fear.

This first installment in a three-book series is for those who will live 30 years or more, those who are older and seeking to assist younger people through this unprecedented challenge, and leaders who are adapting organizations for the New Reality. Mind-blowing change is coming, and The Potentialist offers a road map to success.

Excellent Guidance on How to Face the Future

Great Discussion about the Future. The book discusses how technology advancement will impact all parts of our lives. Work, health, society and families will all be radically and continually impacted over the years to come. The impact is positive and powerful, not to be feared, but to be embraced. Additionally, the book provides actionable steps to prepare yourself, your kids and your organizations to face these upcoming changes. Excellent read, good narrator, and quick paced.

Started strong, finished meh.

First two parts were great - I really enjoyed the “over the horizon” vision and futurist thinking. Third part sort of devolved into a self-help book that doesn’t say anything different than most books out there. I understand where the author was going, but would have enjoyed more of his vision and outlook.

Thought provoking and positive perspective in changes we will be facing over the next 30 years.

Perfect book for everyone this holiday season! You will find so many instances where we are using AI and BCI today. Some of the concepts might seem outlandish but you will discover they are not! Ben gives specific examples and sites research to support each chapter. I found some of the probable ways we will be using technology in the future mind blowing.

Not terribly useful or entertaining

It’s supposed to be a series of fictional accounts of the future, but I just couldn’t catch the energy of it. Maybe it’s because it’s read by a professional reader and it just sounds like it’s fake, or the writing was written by a writing service so it’s too formal and sounds fake. Either way I stopped half way through. Plenty of other better books on futurism of health and medicine out there.
