Publisher's summary

The second three novels in the best-selling Phantom Queen Diaries: Dark and Stormy, Moscow Mule, and Witches Brew.

My name is Quinn MacKenna, and magic doesn’t work on me.

When I’m not getting roped into bar brawls in Boston, I’m usually acquiring - stealing is a form of acquisition, you know - dangerous magical artifacts to turn around and sell them to the highest bidders.

But I prefer to be paid in favors, not money. Because favors are a hot commodity in the Land of the Fae. Favors are the only currency that will buy the answers I seek: Why magic doesn’t work on me, and who my real father is.

Everything was going so well...until I accidentally stole something from a wizard named Nate Temple in St. Louis. That’s the day my life changed forever.

Excellent

While Quinn did not immediately grab my attention, her progress and character development is awesome to listen to. I love the Irishness and the Boston gangster in her. Next one coming right up. Thanks for writing more for me to enjoy.

Linguistics gymnastics and funny

first the narrator does an amazing job bringing the main character to life. I am amazed at the characters dialog.
fun stuff and how can someone live through so much drama and trauma.

Love and a bit of hate

So, overall I am enjoying this series…however in book 4 I’m starting to dislike the FMC. Like double standard much. I need everyone to trust me and tell me stuff, but I’m going to not trust them based on them being freaks and maybe not telling me everything. Seriously? Even though she has acknowledged in previous books that it’s wrong, she STILL continues to hold grudges and not tell her personal business and get butt hurt when others treat her the same. Alucard has been nothing but awesome but simply being a version of vampire, she’s against him even though in Book 3 it states he doesn’t need Blood and she SEES his differences. Don’t wonder why when you are shooting your self in the foot. She’s just frustrating in that aspect. Everything else I pretty much love. Narrator is awesome. I hope she gets better in the next books especially since she is one of the freaks she likes to demonize

Love these box sets

Make sure you follow the other 2 parallel series. This one might be my favorite still too early to tell but I do love the Nate Temple universe. I hope one day he does a really long book where all 3 worlds come together in a fantastic way. Oh Feathers and Fire and Nate Temple are the other two series in case you didn’t already know that

More publisher packs, please!

This is a series which I had in my wish list for ages but couldn't quite commit to. Glad I didn't because the publisher packs of 3 books are just enough story and plot progression to make it all worth while. Good story, great narrator, but not enough of a hook to make me want to immediately go out and buy the next in series, will wait for next publisher pack. With multiple series running in parallel in the Nate Temple universe I think it makes it hard to really empathize with any of the main characters, though this series I think came closest.

I don't like leaving reviews

After reading the first box set (books 1-3) I fell in love with Quinn and wanted to hear more. This set did not disappoint.
