An ok start to a series, but dude's in a vaccum

So far in the process of getting into this border reality to find a cure for himself he so happens to get transported elswhere. There he has no prior information on his location and is in a cave. The mc spends the whole book in a cave fighting monsters, slowly leveling, meanwhile short excerpts of the lore, world-build. So far i am interested in finding out how a second book would go, i think this book starts out ok but if the second book is more of the mc in a cave with no one just surviveing, Then it might just get boring.
