In the hundreds of years since the Holy City disappeared, darkness has fallen over the land. Human kingdoms have seized control of the realm, scattering the other races into hiding. Bridazak, a skilled thief, and his friends, a Dwarf and a fellow Ordakian, have dared to remain within the human communities and live relatively quiet lives, until they discover a mysterious, magical artifact.

The three friends are thrust into an adventure that will challenge their faith, their purpose, and their destiny as they chase a forgotten and lost prophecy across the realm of Ruauck-El, where they hope to discover the origins of the strange item and their place in its history. An ancient, unknown enemy threatens the completion of their journey at every turn. Bridazak is about to face the biggest adventure of his life, one that may change the known realm, and answer the questions he has carried all his life. Will they unlock the truth? The Orb of Truth is the first book of The Horn King Series.

A well told adventure that everyone can enjoy!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! This was well written, yes, but well told as well! Oh, I'm not saying it's going to be like listening to a movie or any such. I will say that I began identifying characters by the way the voice was done, though.

What did you like best about this story?

The pace. I know, a good many people will say it is the sense of excitement they got while reading/listening, or the fact that even though there were fight scenes they weren't all filled with gore... I liked that it started at one pace and it kept on going. It didn't feel like they were in the world's biggest rush to get where they were going. They were enjoying the adventure, these characters, and so was I.

What about Brae Wyckoff’s performance did you like?

Absolutely! He does so in the telling of his tale, sure, but also in the way the characters grow. I was a bit surprised to learn about those "rusty lockpicks."

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I'd liked to have heard more people for the various voices, but this isn't a movie. It's not a cartoon, either. He did a good job with just himself and a couple of friends of convincing me that this was a whole world! My wife even enjoyed it, and she hates fantasy.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book to anyone! In fact, I've recommended it to some friends already.

Excellent Christian fiction!

a fun and yet very dark Christian Fiction with great message and great characters and voice actors. although the arrow in between switching locations is a bit weird and takes you a minute to figure out LOL getting the second book just as soon as it's available!
